How can you and Nicky be so sure that Saints won't score like that did last time?'"
Because we don't let teams score tries like that in the big games like this under Maguire. He will not be allowed to just stroll through.
Just like Leeds won't be allowed to score some tries like they did against Hudds, because they are playing wire.

| The over confidence from wigan fans on here is laughable. Saints have made 5 consecutive grand finals. Do you know how hard that is?
You've had to fight tooth and nail just to make 1 in the 7 last years. Well whoopdy f*cking doo. You were not excellent by any stretch of the imagination tonight. The game as a whole lacked any real playoff intensity. Catalans were cumbersome and generally knackered. A fresher better team would have been 2 scores up on wigan in that opening 20. Just 5 mins into the second half nearly half of catalans team couldn't be bothered to get back onside until about the 4th play.
Does that not ring alarm bells about the determination and intensity of the team you were playing?
If you want to stay in this mystical fairytale world of sugar and lollipops where wigan were great tonight and look set to put saints to the sword next week then by all means, but don't indulge the rest of the rugby league world in this fantasy.

| Quote: Poyser11 "The first try, Stacul didn't interfere with play at all. Not even a little bit. The 2nd try was not a forward pass. And you could hear Ganson say 'I would've disallowed it for double movement anyway' which is a complete joke.
You would have won anyway, they were knackered. Ref ruined the game early on though.'"
Okay, so a fairer score would have been 44-12.
Are you less worried now?

| Quote: Poyser11 "If I'm honest, I haven't looked up the wording of it. Doesn't make sense though... Wouldn't that be inconsistent of the other offside rules? As if you are offside at the play the ball, it doesn't matter unless you attempt a tackle and if you're offside at a kick and your team regains it, it doesn't matter unless you collect the ball. Just doesn't weigh up IMO, although I'm not saying you're wrong, knowing how this game is run, it probably does say that.
And Dureau (I think it was him that passed) turned his body and the ball went backwards out of his hands, not forward, although at least that one could be open to interpretation. To chalk them both off though, just killed off any hope Catalan had.'"
Pass was forward even you should admit that.
I agree the rule should be changed only if the player becomes active should a penalty be given.

You speak about Maguire as if he's god. He's not some all controlling entity, he can't prevent human error and the unpredictability of sport.
You seem to be under the impression wigan are some sort of infallable unstoppable force ''becase they don't let it happen in big games under maguire''.
This line of thought is foolish.

So what you are saying is Wigan were not trying 100% last week.
Blimey

I can only presume Maguire didn't clast week as a big enough game.
'Maguire don't let that happen in big games'' you know! His players are error free in big games.

| Hmmm so last week wasnt a big game, wigan didnt want the week off, and McGuire allowed us to stroll through....lol !!
The penalty count kept you in the game, with two of the other three there was a cigarette paper between the two sides. Laughable comments, expect Dixon and Armstrong to make way for Flannery and one of Wheeler, Pryce or Eastmond.
Next week will be very, very close and the weeks rest will benefit St.Helens. Commendable bravado but borderline stupidity.
See you Saturday......Saints v Wire final.

Yeah, and we won 8 Wembleys in a row, something you lot have never even got close to. And you know what, it's just as irrelevant to next weekend as your 5 Grand Finals, 4 of which you lost - I'd imagine that's pretty hard to do as well.

Let's not open that can of worms eh?
I'm not saying it's relevant, It's just strange over confidence in the face of a team that has such a good record of winning these matches.
Let's be kind and call it 'supportive bravado'.

Funny how the tune has changed!
Thats exactly what it says in my post.... stop making things up.
Well, actually I am saying we were poor last week but I know (having seen us under Maguire in these games) that we will not be playing like that on saturday.

It wouldn't have been 44-12 had they both been given.
