If you look at his stats alongside SOL (who is making most of these teams) in a weaker side, I think you'd be surprised.
Lomax has been excellent, but Dureau shades him IMO. Great talent though.
With a likely 1, 6, 7, 9 of Eastmond, Pryce, Lomax, Roby for the next few weeks Saints will be an exciting side to watch.

| Chase:
Runs around like a headless chicken, i'm positive no one in the team knows what he's going to do (not good if you're organising and coordinating attack, unless it's 3rd tackle in which he receives the ball fakes a pass to the right steps inside on his left runs through the previous ptb.
His kicking is hit and miss and he comes out the line way too often.
Looking busy and looking good for Cas does not a good player make, his decision making is rash, sometimes so rushed the players look at him as if to say WTF was that, give us a fooookin clue mate.
Briers as we all know is the pantomime villain, so beyond Wire or truly unbiased (definitely not Warrior fans) he won't get a look in.
Briers knows the rules inside out, he leads, he directs and the players know what to expect because of his intelligence and composure.
It's not just Briers who is a better half back, in no particular order who i'd have over Chase
Briers, Myler, Brough, Lomax, Brown, Finch, Deacon, Leuluai, Tomkins, Dureau, Bosc, Dobson, Gale, Witt, McGuire, Holdsworth.
Chase is a self serving glory chaser to the detriment of his side, the fact that some of the things he does pay off and endear him to the Cas fans just shows the lack of depth and talent at Cas.
No composure whatsoever and not a team player.

A whole new level of cluelessness.
Leaving aside your ridiculous list, you talk about headless chicken behaviour then name McGuire as better than Chase?!

| Pat Richards, as good as he is, has no way done enough to be in the dream team... you're picking him for this seasons dream team based on last year.... Currently Briscoe deserves a place ahead of Richards IMO.
And as for laughing at briers..... he has been sublime this season.. it was only a few weeks ago he was being talked about as a potential MOS by the sky pundits.
Briers has more tries than Rangi Chase and a few less assists.
Chase is a very greedy individual who plays for himself a hell of alot. I haven't seen him have one good game against credible opposition this season.

Maybe i'm similar to Rouges and Pryce on this.
Chase, i'm sorry i just don't get the hype and i'm not seeing what others do.

Would you say England are credible opposition? He was excellent that night.

You didn't see Cas v Wigan then when he came on as sub and ran the show. Mind you Wires will probably think that average players can do that anyway as were not in the same class as Wire are we.

is the dream team selected on international / made up novelty fixtures?
I thought we were talking about super league performances.
to answer your question, yes he played well in that friendly game.

No, no, no - he came on and all he did was sidestep and not pass the ball.
Don't tell anyone he's 3rd in assists despite playing in a relatively poor team, they won't believe you - he only plays for himself.

Cas 22 wigan 22 (from Sportinglife)
Dixon again faltered with the conversion attempt but the Tigers struck again with 15 minutes remaining when Aspinwall seized on a clever kick from Chase.
Dixon converted to cut Wigan's lead to eight points and with seven minutes remaining the Tigers struck their fourth try, through Arundel again after more good work from Chase.
Dixon failed to convert and Chase's fine pass sent Mathers diving over in the left corner in the closing stages - only for Dixon to fail to convert from the touchline.
Hull 18 Castleford 20 (from Sportinglife)
Hull, who were unable to control stand-off Rangi Chase all night
Castleford 34 Catalans 24(from Sportinglife)
for Rangi Chase to send Craig Huby plunging in for a try.
Five minutes later, the Tigers went back in front with a clever solo effort by New Zealander Chase, who dummied his way through from 20 yards out for a try.
I'm assuming you don't watch much rugby that doesn't involve Wire.

| Fire enough bullets you'll hit the target.
Pity there isn't a 'taking the wrong option' stat, he'd head that

| Briers has been good for Wire but I don't think he'd be included in the Dream Team. I think it's a case of Wire improving and helping Briers play better rather than him raising his game and helping Wire. I think if you put a few other halfbacks in the Wire squad they'd be performing at a similar level to Briers.
Chase is definitely more of an individual but even his critics surely have to admit that he's done an awful lot for the Cas team and without him they'd be much worse off. He's pretty much the only seriously dangerous player in the side. No one really knows how he'd cope at one of the top clubs but I don't think it's right to dismiss him as a 'headless chicken'. He's involved in almost everything good that Cas do.
Scott Dureau would be the obvious choice and then I think possibly Brough, although his injury might work against him. If Brett Finch keeps up his good form then he might be in with a chance and then there's Lomax too.
