whats the point in comparing him to Rads? for me, its a no brainer and rads wins hands down. i think even wellens back in his better days is a better FB than sam.

however, neither of them are in our team, so why compare. he is our FB so lets get behind him. he didn't do much wrong to be fair, and we shouldn't expect a master class every game or every time he has the ball.

I thought he made two poor efforts at stopping the ball being grounded last night (one was a try (Cas first?) the other the one that the video ref never gave due to Tuson legs).

For me that would be a greater concern going forward than a one-off poor display from him on attack (which last night was despite what some people on here are trying to convinve themselves otherwise).

Sam was superb last night barring a couple of errors.. seems he is a victim of his own success if people are saying he was !!

Bizarre

All I know is that everytime Sam got the ball, I was up out of my seat! Thats the type of player he is. He looks dangerous everytime he gets the ball and he's the most exciting player to watch in Super League!!

He's elusive, quick, clever, a tough little buggar and difficult to stop!!!

I like!!! k020.gif

I would be interested to know how Sam compares with other full backs in how many assists come from his hands (not kicks). The greatest full backs I have seen have been able to take the ball in support and offload for the try; Slater does it all the time and again in SoO yesterday. I think Sam gets a little red mist when in the last 20.
Notwithstanding this, Sam on a supposedly poor day, like last night was reportedly, is still much much better than the majority of players on a good day.

Great player in broken play behind a dominant pack, but as others have previously mentioned, is WAY to greedy with ball in hand, just watch some of his tries, lots of them he ignores a 4v2 situation to go on his own, i remember versus Leeds in last seasons playoffs where he ignored overlaps on 3 occasions within the space of 10 mins..... plus is becoming a liability defensively.

If he's a liability, just wish we had 12 more liabilities.

Ron your comment is just plain daft.

Not sure it's greed. He's prbably more worried about risking the last pass out wide, and thinks there's a better option inside. Admittedly he's probably often wrong about that, but he's still learning the position. Defensively he's not as strong as some full backs, but again he's still learning.

Sam was far too greedy last night and fluffed quite a lot of tries by not passing. I hope Maguire has a strong word with him because it is something that needs sorted asap.
