| Game in the 20s for Finch this week (bring faz in for him) clearly not match fit. Missed tackles, knocked on, threw awful passes.
Bring him back in an easier game vs the Catalans and then lets see what he can do

| Brett Finch can only get better for me. As has been alluded too, he tried a few different things and once other players are more able to anticipate his passes and kicks better then he'll be a sterling player in the Wigan team. He's going to go on to be extremely important, both in attack and defence as I though he put a good defensive shift in last night when he didn't miss the tackle. He's not 100% match fit yet but he's not going to be without playing.
He's a playmaker. All playmakers are different in some way and it'll take a bit of time for other players to get used to their style. Give it until Good Friday; he'll cause Saints all sorts of problems. Promise.

One positive, the Finch-Hoffman link appears to be very good.'"
It did look as though they had a good understanding. Clearly from Storm days, but bodes well for the season.

It's not as if people are suggesting he shouldn't play again. He threw some terrible passes, tackled poorly and seemed to have no communication with the side. That makes a poor game.
The fact that it's his first game in quite a long time is almost certainly the reason why he struggled. A lot of people expected him to struggle. They aren't criticising him unfairly, just telling it like it is. He was bad and there's a perfectly good reason for it. He just needs more games under his belt.

Listening to people at the game and some of the comments on a few threads about him are a total joke . I don't know what most of them expect of him in is 1 st game back . We ve lost a game it will do us some good they always do i thought most of the team was below par last night apart from a couple .

I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass, and I am all out of bubblegum.
Don't you struggle. Don't you fight. Don't you worry, cause it's your turn tonight!

| I thought he showed some great signs. Yes he was rusty, but that was to be expected. What wasn't expected was the rest of the team to play like they also hadn't picked a rugby ball up in 7 months.
For me he starts again next week against Leeds. None of this dropping him to the twenties.

He had a poor game. His try was individual brilliance. We need to stick with him as his attack was just a bit off pace, he will be an outstanding player for us but never the less his error count miss timed passes and dropped balls / poor kicks last night cannot be ignored.
We need to look at the circumstances that he hasnt played for 6 - 8 months. What is fearful is he will be quality when those things come off.

Hmm, I don't want to bag Finch as I thought there were some encouraging signs from him last night and I have no doubt that he'll go on to be a cracking player for us. However, defensively there were definitely some issues last night. I haven't watched the game back but from what I could tell their first two tries both came as a result of Finch failing to slide across, giving the two defenders outside him little chance against 3 Warrington attackers. On quite a few occasions in the first half when defending our own line, Finch appeared to be just stood still.

| I am glad I got to see Finch's full potential against a great team last night. PAH, to think i was scared he'd do... anything!
I am joking to a certain extent. He will most likely improve but last night, he was shocking.

Very true this. Far be it from me to criticise Madge but how can you be match fit when you haven't played a game for 6 months? He should have had half a dozen games with the under 20's. Finchy is a class act and it was a shame that this was his first game for us. Just hope the fans stick with him and we don't get the usual tub thumpers shouting for his head.

| he was brought in because he had to be brought in. Faz was out with a thigh injury so he couldnt cover loose for lockers to move there, we had no deacn. The only option would have been for sam to 6 and leave amos at 1. the guy hasnt played for 7 months, and debuted against arguably the best team in the comp at the minute. he would have got rid of a few cobwebs tonight. he didnt have the best game but neither did most of the team. our pack was dominated, Charnley had a shocker, Marsh wasnt great, lockers threw some stupid passes, tommys kicking game was poor, prescott had some loose carries etc etc etc. i cant believe people are bagging him, Madge threw him in, if he wasnt ready it was his poor decision. Finch never stopped trying and shows glimpses of the class act he is. The bigger concern for me is the lack of impact at hooker and our three quarter line. For me the Gleeson situation needs to be resolved. if he stays great if not lets replace him with somone like Tahu. I know they're young but at the minute but Charnley and Marsh arent good enough or experienced to be first choice week in week out. they have bags of potential and are the future but they need time to develop off experienced players. Once the right centre situation is sorted and pat is back it will lokk stronger and heklp take the pressure off them and allow them to develop at the right pace

| I thought he was poor but it is to be expected after such a long lay off especially in a game like last nights. It was obvious it was his first game and I think he seriously failed to slot into our structure or into our attack but this will come as he plays more. With hindsight it was a poor decision to play him in a game such as that but at least his first game is now out of the way and the only way is up.
