Was at the Wire end against Huddersfield at Wembley last season and i know clubs have a small minority of idiots. But i had a very good time and no bother at all. There is always some incidents at big games. Drink and idiots = Problems. I dont think that there would any problems if we played you last weekend.

| Thats what I mean just because some have have in the past doesn't mean others will in future an thats the point I was making to IRC a few knobs shouldnt mean we are all the same.
I have already said since the final Sam Tomkins should of won the Harry Sunderland Trophy as he was so good he scared the crap out of Saints and also Wigan were the best team by some way this year an look like starting a new era of glory so theres no bitterness or being jealous on my part.

| Great post that DD and thanks. I love to hate Saints as well but respect them at the same time and have enjoyed watching your games this year - thought I was sickening for something at first but then realised that a lot of other Wigan fans feel similarly this year and the banter with you guys is generally far more friendly than with some other teams. Good luck next season but don't try too hard eh?

| Ths thread reminds me of the 2000 grand final, in the pub that is now weatherspoons right next to sir matt busby way. Choc full of wigan fans when me and 3 other saints fans walked in. We get on the tables and start singing Saints songs and a few other saints fans dotted around joined in, to which the wigan fans return the favour and booed and sang a few songs at us, all good natured. Next thing, a group of warrington fans walk in and the whole pub turns on them chanting the w@nky warrington song to which these warrington fans just walked out.

Erm because of Wembley!!!
My point however was that after the experience of winning a league game at the Geri Halliwell I just couldnt see anything different happening in a grand final esp when it happens when you win a final!!

I remember this!
That was the year that people kept singing 'Who Let the Dogs out' for some inexplicable reason

| Why in the Lord's name would a review of a Wigan v Saints game require the slightest reference to Warrington, never mind any other RL club in the land?

A review? What are you talking about? Wrong thread?

It was Wire fans outside the ground for no other reason than they wanted to have a go at Wigan fans!!! Hence my point would have been trouble if we had beat them in GF!! Esp with them taking 35,000!!

| I feel ready to return to the boards after a few days sulking
Congrats to Wigan - comprehensively outplayed us on the day and a richly deserved SL trophy to add to an equally well deserved hubcap.
Tomkins was brilliant and I have everything crossed that he carries that sort of form into the four nations.
Oh and, as usual, all the Wigan fans I bumped into on the day were great value. Was nice not to have to put up with objectionable drunk Leeds fans for once.
See you all next season.

| Thanks to all the Saints fans for their comments on here.
Whilst we have an intense dislike for each others teams, it's actually borne out of respect. The fans were in the main excellent and took victory or defeat in a gracious manner.
It's quite ironic that if you look on the trolling thread on the Saints site that the majority of the posts are NOT from Wigan fans.
Last Saturday is now history (a great piece of Wigan history mind).
Roll on February and let battle commence again.

| I like DD have stayed away from the boards for a good few days. Gutted mostly, but wanting everything to calm down as such. I know I wouldn't have had any problems on here may i add.
Fair play to wigan, absolutely blew us off the park after 20 minutes, i was expecting a cricket score at that stage to be honest.
Leaving the ground, i shook hands with a few wiganers, congratulated them and they were good sports although a bit surprised at a sinteller doing this.
Sam tomkins for me, should have got the man of the match IMO, destroyed us and in the full back role it really suits him, looks threatening everytime he touched the ball.
Well done again and come on st george in the WCC
