| Quote: nickcat0 "I would never claim to be a "die-hard" RU fan, I enjoy watching the odd game on tv, but I haven't been to a live game since the early 90's.
The main thing ( though not the only thing) I enjoy about RU is the forward play. The contest at the scrum, ruck and maul, and to a lesser extent lineout. Watching a prop slowly dismantle his opponent over the course of a match; the body position of a wing forward such as McCaw entering the ruck/maul; the timing of the lift/jump/throw at a lineout; the footwork of a No8 at the scrum etc etc I find the technical aspects of the forward play fascinating.'"
Fair enough. I just can't get into a game that is so slow (IMO of course). For me, the ball is never in the field of play enough for any momentum to build in the match. I just find myself thinking why doesn't a bloke with a bit of pace just burn half the team on the wing because everyone is so compacted in the middle of the pitch or around the ruck where a player has been tackled.
I've had Union fans admit to me that the regular rounds of Rugby Union is poor, but the international game is meant to be fantastic - can you vouch for this?

| Going back on topic (or has the title changed to "Rugby Union is crud so there"icon_wink.gif? Less than 3K tickets left which means over 15.5K in attendance for tomorrow nights game. Can believe the club hasn't issued the customary "less than 500 tickets left for the south stand" notice. Assuming we get 16K what would that take our average to?

| It would make me smile if we got a bigger attendance tomorrow than Saints get for their final League game at Knowsley Road on Saturday.
It shouldn't happen, but you never know.

I have absolutely no interest at all in domestic rugby union, but watch most of the game in the 6 nations or WC etc etc. From what i've seen the better international sides just play at a much higher intensity and a quicker pace, compared to the slow, forward dominated domestic games.

An I'm sure you'll be the first to point it out to them if it does indeed happen.

They weren't impressed with me when I wished them happy 20th anniversary at Murrayfield in 2009.

You probably will as lots of fans who have bought tickets now can't go because SKY have changed the date. No doubt if we have to play Wire at home in the play-offs we will have a full house or there abouts. All you wigan fans have to go to the match to be able to see the gleam of silverware for a change.

| I know that Union got a massive boost after all the media attention surrounding England's world cup win but that can't be the only reason that their club game attendances have shot up so much. How are the Union teams getting more people through the gates than League teams. This is something that the clubs and the RFL should seriously be looking into. We have the better product yet they seem to be selling it far better these days.

If they have already bought tickets it will still count towards the crowd even if they don't turn up. It should have been a sell out, and I sincerely hope it is for the likes of yourself who goes week in week out.

Are you allowed to tell us what has actually been sold?
I understand the "Just because there shows only "X" amount left it doesn't mean the others have been sold" Argument.
So just wondered if you knew the "Sold" Figure?

You can pay a small upgrade to swap the season ticket from the South to another stand, or you might get lucky and a seat come available if someone cancels their ticket in the South or moves to another stand etc - best advice is to keep checking online for a seat coming available.
