Honest - I never knew that. Perhaps I should have used some smilies to help ten year olds understand.

I go to uni in Manchester and virtually everywhere shows RL on request, just so long as there's no football on. I'd advise your cousin to go into the city centre to watch games.

| Possibley one of the most popular players to play for Wigan in the last decade and during the dark dark days of the Millward regime was probably the only player capable of lifting the supporters with his famous charges down the field.
Unfortunatley his defence and lack of game time was sometimes cruelly exposed by the opposition no more so than the Challenge Cup semi final defeat against Warrington last season. It was the first time that i saw Wigan supporters genuinley pleading with Brian Noble not to let Feka back onto the field as it was obvious that Warrington were targeting him.
There was an interview with Micheal Maguire following the signings of Hoffman, Finch and Lima when Madge commented that Jeff Lima is very proud of his fitness levels and that comment really stuck in my mind as it is obvious from the way we have played this season how important fitness is to Maguire.
Good luck to him at Salford, it will be very strange seeing him play for another club in 2011.

You seem have a beef about Salford ? Why ?
Correct about Myler & Coley can name plenty others , but alot of your legendary players were poached from other clubs in similar fashion , Lydon - Gregory, Offiah ( Widnes ) Gill, Handley ( Bradford ) Jason Robinson ( Hunslet ).
R.L.have always struggled for recognition next to a city dominated by football.
and the players that do appear in the past have gone go to other RL clubs. Adrian Morley & Kallum Watkins ( Leeds ) -Betts ( Wigan).
there has been alot of work been done in the past few years to redress this with Alan Hunte with the academy , and work is being done to build awareness in Salford & Manchester in Schools & amatuer level. Sure this will pay dividends given time.
Good luck in the play-offs .

We poached those players yes. But we have always maintained one of, if not the best youth policy in Rugby League so there's no reason to criticise Wigan for making those signings.
I've no beef with Salford what so ever, the same could be said of a couple of other Super League clubs. It's fustrating when Wigan get criticized for signing overseas players when they have a large number of home grown players within the squad. Salford are a perfect example of a club that seems to evade criticism when signing a clutch of foreign players (some of which out of favour with current SL clubs!) without promoting no/next to no youth, and it should be taken into consideration when franchise applictations are being discussed. Don't you agree?

He does or they do? I don't know one Salford fan who thinks he came from out youth system to be honest.

Absolutely, we are going to be considered by many as obvious candidates to lose our franchise, if so I'd have no compliants if we really are proven the worst offenders.
I've never criticised any teams recruitment , and a ' clutch of foreign players ' can apply to a majority of current SL sides . All I know is the youth we have promoted in the past couple years have struggled for form & confidence as they need better / experienced players alongside them it's all about getting the balnce right and putting a competitive team on the field to build support at the same time .

I don't disagree with any of that.
Like I say, the reason of my post and using Salford as example is mainly aimed towards anti-Wigan critics on nationwide Rugby League TV and radio broadcasts and on messageboards such as RLFANS.
