Think there should be more emphasis on finishing top with the grand final some what more second place to the league. Its only a matter of time before an 8th placed team win grand final with having lost half there games or so. The way it is sees the likes of saints and leeds etc not giving there all when know going to finnish in top 8 and holding out for a grand final

In Premier League terms, the top 8 in SL, would be the equivalent of 11 or 12 teams qualifying for Europe. I really didn't see anything wrong in the top 6 system. It gave a big advantage to 1st and 2nd, and i think thats how it should be. It also meant the playoff were more elite. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly. |

Agreed. Play-offs have their attractions, but it's a shame that they completely over-shadow the league. I've never been a huge fan of the current structure; no team who finishes 8th in the league could legitimately be "champions".
There should be a separate knock-out cup competition played after the league with the top teams battling it out to be "best of the best", but tying such a competition in with being so-called Super League winners doesn't make sense, imo.

This shouldn't be the case. The team that can finish top after playing week after week from February through to September in all kinds of conditions should 100% definately be the Champions. I understand what people are saying regarding mid table clubs having no incentive but why should be have a structure that is rewarding mid table clubs? Why do we actually have a league?
Why don't we split all 14 teams into 4 different groups then the group winners play in a semi final and final?? Might as well, and it saves us playing all 27 league games for nothing. Under the current top 8 format the league winners aren't even guarenteed a semi final slot! MASSIVE JOKE!'"

For me finishing top this season was a massive bonus as before the season no one fancied us. Were missing some depth in the squad that is more than sorted for next season. Tonight and the home game against Wire proves this point. If we get to the GF or miss out this season i wont be that disapointed but next season i will be gutted. Were better than we were last year but next season could be out best in a long while |

I got 14/1 for us to win the league, and 8/1 for us to win the GF at the start of the season. I can't for the life of me understand why were longer odds to win the league when the GF is the so called hardest to win.

Did u put that bet on with real optimism of winning the hub cap.
A work colleague of mine put a £10 on Everton to win the premiership. Something tells me the bookie will be keeping his money. |

you do realise that was posted in July? it was during the season when everyone had a chance to point and laugh at the teams that lost (albeit that was a loss at Catalans!) 
no doubt some wigan fans were enjoying the fact you lost on Friday but to reply to that from a couple months ago....  |

i only saw that it was an old old post after posting, and lets not get into who lost to who as if i remember we ost to catalans away, yet you lost to the quins at the dw, we all know that is worse!
