Hetherington is an idiot, someone from the dark ages who needs to be locked up and never let near the head of RL again.

As for Hemmings, the man is an utter disgrace, he believes that his position on sky makes him a valid contributor to the shaping of the game, and his hatred of Wigan is obvious for anyone with eyes.

I couldn't agree more although I believe Kear surpassed Hemmings.

I can't understand what Hetherington is on about - I thought the Leeds - Wigan game was a very entertaining, exciting game, far far better than many 30 -20 point games where attackers just walk through the defence.

Despite the poor conditions both teams managed to put on a great display and put in some great hits in defence.

As Terry said, when he was playing the coaches instructed them to do exactly the same (holdingg he player up before completing the tackle). The key difference now is that some coaches seem to be better at getting their players to do it.

The only thing that spoiled the spectacle in my opinion was the amount of pens the referee gave. THAT is the thing that is spoiling and slowing down the game, not the extra couple of seconds taken up in holding a player up before completing the tackle.

Hetherington is so far off the mark it's ridiculous - the No1 factor in improving both qualityand the spectacle is to improve the quality and consistency of refereeing - so they let the game flow and only penalise when absolutely required. Good defence will only improve the teams need to improve their attack - this can only be a positive thing surely?

The problem we have at the moment is that if you look hard enough you can spot a penalty in almost every set of 6, we have to move away from that and take the approach of giving a pen only if;

1) is it dangerous
2) is it a deliberate act giving an obvious unfair advantage against the rules of the game

Now this requires a ref who uses sound judgement rather than hides behind the interpretation of the rules - after all, it is the refs who make a judgement as to whether a hand on the ball is stripping or whether it is a loose carry, there is no black and white about this rule.

Incidents like accidental offside should not be awarded a penalty but a scrum awarded - gaining 40 yrd and another set of 6 is too big a reward for something that is accidental.

Phil Clarke does the same with Wigan. To be honest lads, who honestly gives a bleep what Eddie or Clarke think? The league table shows you top of the league, im pretty sure your "wrestling" doesn't have much affect in the 50 point bummings you hand out. The best pundits on there are Barrie Mac and Carney by a mile.

Barrie MacDermott "SHOT".

Im sick and tired of Hetherington, Eddie, Stevo, Kear et al having a pop, its getting very very boring. Yet what frustates me more is the deafening silence from IL, its about time this man grew some stones and stuck up for this club. Since he has come into the club theres no doubt hes has done some great things but a few incidents have concerned me ie. being kicked out of our own stadium for a play off game now the current open season on having a dig at out team without so much of a whisper from our esteemed leader. I weren't a huge fan of Maurice but theres nooooo way he would have let this go on without giving as good as he got.

why must we get into a war of words when we are already winning the arguement by what we are doing on the pitch.

i think IL has got it spot on. the guys runnings wigan must be sitting down together having a good laugh at all these people having a go at what they are doing, then going out and trying to do it with their own teams, but not nearly as well as we are.

Don't add balance to their argument about him being biased! Don't you know he just has to say that to disguise his bias and his co-operative mission with the RFL to bring Wigan down!

I agree with you upto a point. Yet now I believe because of the constant ranting and ravings by TV presenters, journo's, coaches this is now effecting the way officials are reffing our games to the detrement of our club. Enough is enough is enough is enough, grow some brass monkeys IL and defend our club.

i understand what you mean. it could work out a number of ways.

one thing i like at the moment is everyone is so caught up with the way we defend that they are missing the point that we are scoring so many points. and not just pass to 1st reciever and feka running over the top of people. we are scoring good trys with 5 or 6 players handling the ball, with a few others playing the dummy runner role. i dont think any team is attacking as a well as a team as we are doing.

I think you will see a clamp down on the current Wigan tactics !!!

It is spoiling the game, we all want to see fast open rugby and Wigans manipulation of the tackle rule is slowing the game down to a snails pace !!

Everyone is now recognising the problem and I think there will be some advice given to Wigan followed by a stern interpretation by the match officials

What absolute rubbish.

rlhttps://www.superleague.co.uk/video/player.php?id

rlhttps://www.superleague.co.uk/video/player.php?id

I could link to more but I can't be bothered. We play some very good attacking rugby, and we back it up with brutal defense. "Oh no, Wigan have 3 men in the tackle, quick, someone stop it!"

Every team has three men in the tackle, and every team trys to slow it down as much as they can, both teams I play always have and always will.

Find a different bandwagon to jump on, one that is at least backed up with some form of fact.
