| Quote: Leaguefan "If Wigan get McGuire as coach then they may as well have gone for John Dixon, or Peter Roe or Barry Eaton, or Steve Deakin etc., etc.
Will not make Wigan into world beaters with the current players and their "attitudes"
There is only ONE coach, in this country, who can get the best out of players yet he is often ignored but he is "successful" as has been shown time and time again.'"
When Wayne Bennett recommends someone as the next big thing in coaching, you've got to at least sit up and take note.
I for one would be very pleased if we got someone as proficient and innovative as McGuire is supposed to be.

| I personally will be chuffed to bit's if we get McGuire and Wane together as a team, for me they form everything that I want in a Wigan coaching team.
Wane brings knowledge of the current juniors at the club as well as the history and importance of wearing the Wigan shirt to the table, while McGuire would bring new cutting edge techniques and methods to the club which may just enable us to move to that next level.
All in all I would be very happy with that appointment however whether they could turn some of the current players around is a doubt after all you can't polish a turd.

| McGuire would be a very good appointment. This is a man who has spent 3 yearz or so working under the best coach around at Melbourne.
No disrespect to Wane but I would be disapointed if he was made head coach now. We need somebody fresh in with new ideas and new contacts (he might be able to bring some top players with him)
Im really looking forward to next season if it is McGuire!

He is also rated highly by Wayne Bennett.

| i posted on here just after the hull kr game last week, that a good friend of mine who is involved in the coaching set up told me mcguire had signed a 3 year contract with wane as his number 2, at the end of the 3 years it is planned for wane to step up with mcguire returning to oz. this guy has a very good reputation as an up and coming young aussie coach, just hope we can get him a couple of quality forwards. he also told me the club are trying to get celtic crusaders to take fielden.

Personally, I'd lvoe it.
Nothing annoys other folk in RL more than the publicity that always seems to surround Wigan.
2006 was a classic year - the RL press were more interested in what was happening at the bottom of the table than at the top because Wigan were there.

I would be as happy as I was the day we signed him if he did go! But only if we signed someone like Morley, Kite, Cross, Fa'aoso.

I think we should get used to changing coaches every 3 years from now, I think it will become club policy.

| Did everybody see McGuire this morning during the coverage of the NRL Grand Final?
What did people think of his role in the Melbourne camp?

| The press day at O/T for the Grand Final is Monday morning.
Clubs have their press days later in the week.
Our press day and announcement on Wednesday will be great publicity for us but will upset a lot of people in the RFL.
Having said that Celtic may well announce Noble's appointment on Tuesday. He could then name his signings for Celtic later in the week.
