I certainly would not do the latter.
As to the former you need to define what you mean by "a better option" given carrying on as we have this last three seasons with Noble in charge is definitely not an option in itself IMO. IMO keeping him on because there is no "better option" would likely mean we would be no better and so I'd expect another slow start and another 11 or 12 losses in 2010.
Look at it from that way and even an inexperienced coach such as Wane looks a promising candidate.

| Just ask yourselves this question... How many coaches would have nearly two thirds of supporters wanting them out EVEN if they take the club to the glory of a grand final? When you answer that question you will be a lot closer to knowing what the good, intelligent folk of Wigan think of that lugubrious clown and his ideas on how rugby should be played.
For those who are now dropping their trousers for him i suggest you look back to the magic victory over Saints when the strong rumour at the time was the team finally railroaded what he was asking of them and played for themselves. Same again perhaps?

A mindless thing to say IMO, what have Wigan got to be spiteful for?

Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.

| If we win the grand final then 2 year deal.
If we get to the grand final then 1 year deal.
If we get beat then its time for a new face.
Regardless of what happens we need a new assistant e.g. Wane and a new conditioner to get Feka and Riddell fitter and Fielden and Coley bigger.

39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good

sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league

I agree with you appart from the first 2 statements really.
Mike Forshaw as far as I can see has given us less results than Noble, he has to go.
Roberts took ages to get to fittness and now he is fit he is sheer class and I am glad we signed him, he will only get better.
Feka, Fielden, Riddell, Pryce, Coley and one or two others in one off games just have not looked fit in parts this season and its not good enough. Hudds have done so well through being so fit and up for games.
When all our team look alive and fit we are the 3rd best team in the competition and are top two challengers.
FORSHAW HAS TO GO!

| I haven't voted because I'd like us to keep Noble anyway but I'm pretty sure we won't.
I have changed my mind over the course of the season, after a run of poor results I was thinking; "lets be patient". Then, the Celtic loss came which, at the time, convinced me we needed someone else.
I have changed my mind again since and decided this several weeks ago before we'd reached 5th and finally 6th place. I just think one more year would be the right thing. We've changed coaches too quickly in the past and although we've given Noble over three and a half seasons I think one more would be the best option.

| Hang on, we finished 6th, getting to the GF just papers over the cracks. We are an average team, if we were good we'd be in the top 4, great the top 2, and the very best 1st.

| One of the main points of him recieving a new contract would be to play more youngsters.
I was sickened when I watched the reserves grand final to see how good Davies and Walker played and how hard they took the ball in and tackled and yet Noble still hasn't dropped Fielden/Hansen to give them their debuts. I seriously would rather play Davies/Holland/Mossop instead of Fielden in certain games in the season.
If I was coach Davies/Walker would have got their debut against Celtic/Salford in place of Feka/Fielden/Hansen/Tomkins.
Same goes with Flannagan,Mossop and Ainscough but they made their debut due to injuries. We have the best youngsters coming through yet aren't playing them so if Noble does stay he has to play more youngsters.
I am a bit apprehensive about Wane being appointed coach I wouldn't want him to do a Betts as I value him a lot I wouldn't like him to have it all too soon, I would give him the Assistant role.

Davies will be a great player for us. I hope we only sign one new prop when Fielden and Coley leave and play Mossop and Davies and build our pack around them, Farrell also must play.

I agree with you, but there are lots of posters on the "Nobby" thread who seem to think we have no fitness issues. At times I wonder if they are watching the same team as the rest of us...

Your right, it is, but ultimately is it fair for Noble to take the rap for something that is ultimately Forshaw and his teams job.
Is it fair for a bank managers head to roll simply because the person handing out loans has been making bad decisions? No, but that's what happens. I wouldn't mind a new coach and new back room staff if I'm honest.
