| Quote: ROBINSON "Nobody is disputing that. What we're saying is that when you're employed as THE voice of rugby league you have a duty to appear impartial, and you should not let your feelings influence what you are saying.
Eddie Hemmings arguably has this responsibility even more than Stevo, Clarke and the rest of them due to him being the presenter and commentator. He is not paid to give opinions, he's paid to call the match.'"
But if he does support a team, as everyone will know, you will dislike others, and sometimes you are un-aware that you are being biased.
I agree with what your saying that as 'the voice' of Rugby League, he should be un-biased, but personally i don't see the problem. He isn't the only bloke to dislike Wigan. Sure people wont die if Eddie Hemmings doesn't like Wigan.
Just a question: That guy from Gillette Soccer Saturday show, who presents it. He supports Hartlepool, and is biased against other teams, yet he is only supposed to deliver football scores. Nobody disputes this. Should give Eddie a break in my opinion

Idiot or not, he stung Eddie. That's okay by me.

| Eddie and Stevo regardless of some of their opinions make a great pair through the match. Im glad they are not like the rent-a-commentators that seem to be coming through.
Now if anyone has the Wire v Wigan game recorded from earlier this season listen to Phil Clarkes' obvious Wigan bias. Not that i care because i like the whole commentary team.

| Quote: Billinge_Lump "Obviously it does though.
Where has he said that his team is not more important that his dislike of Wigan? He just states that he dislikes Wigan.
You dislike Saints, there are many reasons why fans of clubs dislike other clubs.'"
I dislike Saints as our local rivals. But I don't visit your forum every day to try and prove it. In fact, I hardly ever post on there. But that's not just because I don't like trolls and trolling. It's because I'm more interested in what's happening at Wigan than I am in what's happening at your club.
That distinctly isn't the impression I get from quite a few 'visitors' to this forum. Today, we've had one Wire fan banned who, from his 23 posts on this site so far, made 19 of them on the Wigan board - all designed to cause annoyance. Now you may not feel that's a little bit sad, but I do, and I'm going to continue saying it is.

| why your on about bias, whos more biased than barry mac for leeds. the other week he tried to admit just because he works for leeds he tries not to show bias, the next moment he was screaming leeds on to score a try. anyone works for a club should not be commentating.

Supporting a particular club I can half understand, even for a pro commentator. But disliking a particular club is highly unprofessional.
I still haven't forgotten the Wigan v Leeds game a few years ago, when Wigan were just ahead.
Eddie said something like: "There's still time. Can Leeds pull this one back." Stevo responded with something like: "Let's hope so."
Even button-eyed Eddie then went on to say something like: "Oh, the Wigan fans won't like that."
Well he got somethig right, at least.

| I'm not so much bothered about the Bias, its more the continual attempts to be controversial.
It does my head in when they natter on about the play the ball etc and some of the comments are just infuriating.

| You can at least take solace from the fact that Bill Arthur is a hard core Wigan nuthugger.

Exactly, most people will think he represents all Wigan fans and will think we are all paranoid.
I am not a fan of Eddie as he can really do my head in when he goes off on one like numbers on shirts etc. But to say it was a hissy fit is a little wide of the mark, it irratated him and it showed but for a true hissy fit from him think back to what the Manly CEO said about Superleague, now that was funny seeing Eddie thowing a proper hissy fit

I agree that it's sad. A bit of banter is one thing, occasional trolling with humour is another, but consistent trolling, with the lack of humour that most do it with is pretty pathetic.
But I suppose the 15 year olds that do it find it amusing.

Eddie said something like
I used to think Stevo had a pecking order for supporting clubs
Leeds
Bradford
Wigan
Saints
The other Yorkshire teams
The rest.
