| Quote: Jukesays "And as above some posters want him selected every week yet still call for us to use the squad as we have a big one????
Why isn't Ainscough/Tomkins not being selected treated as them being "Rested" like when other players aren't selected?????
PS
I agree that if Carmont isn't fit I would play Ainscough etc etc but he/medical team keep declaring him fit so ??????????????????????
If he is fit he has to play I would have thought but TBH he doesn't look it to me??????'"
i never said that he should be playing every week and i do agree that young players need protecting (to an extent). but he has not played since the wakey game weeks ago. even then he was not listed as being on the teamsheet. it was this "young" lad that started our revival and now he is nowhere to be seen exept the reserves.
as for carmont, he was obviously declared fit to play last week but blatently was not fit enough to play, he need resting because IMO older players can still suffer with burnout so he needed the week off (probably get MOM now i have said this ).
you cannont put a price on enthusiasm, and shaun has more than many.

And I was saying that Whatever Noble does he will receive criticism from some Fans for his decisions.

And I also belive you can't put a price on Experience!
It's getting the right balance that's the key IF the players invloved are good enough
Just because there young or Experienced doesn't make them good enough.

I agree with that, noble will get slated from all directions for his team selection, but he has nothing to lose from giving Shaun a run out this weekend. I mean honestly would you be upset if he made the starting line-up?.
yes he is not a world beater under the high ball (however some of the criticism he has had on here makes him sound inept, which he clearly is not). besides which, how is he going to get better?
by getting out on the park and learning his trade the best way possible? or by languishing in the reserves with his past mistakes eating away at him.
the lad has one of the best attitudes I have seen in a player in a long time, the worst thing we could do is let him lose that.
he has had a taste of the big time and during that time been all but excellent, it is unfair to keep him out all the time.

| Nobby's shown that he's prepared to change a winning team, so by his logic he won't change a losing one.
There are a lot of the current side that look in need of a rest - Carmont, for example, whose two almost identical recent missed tackles that led to tries looked at least in part down to his injury. Until he's fully fit again, why not put Bails back in at centre (or, better still, recall Goulding) and play Hock, Hansen & JT at second row?
Noble has a habit of dropping his most in-form players, so it wouldn't surprise me if he did drop McIlorum after his coaches MoM performance last week.
Last week showed how much we miss Sam T when he doesn't play, so I expect Nobby to drop him again, just because he can.
Look for the usual 17 based on accent, not form.

McIlorum was again superb defensively, and I'm a great fan of he's but as I have said many many times I believe Riddell is more creative.
I know conditions were bad last week but some of the passing from dummy half was poor.'"
i also think had sam been in for the 18 plays he would of come up with some thing too

| If Carmont plays and struggles again like he has the last 2 weeks major questions need to be asked. The lad is clerly not 90% never mind 100%.
I think it has been a massive error of judgement on Noble's part selecting him the last few weeks ahead of Ainscough which he basically has.
Hopefully this week it will be third time lucky.
I hope those claiming S. Tomkins looked tired even though he scored the match winner against Trinity and justified his dropping because of it can see Carmont has struggled much more than Sam did in that game and aginst Hull KR.

Especially as we also have Karl Pryce as an available like for like replacement.

Wash your mouth out with...err..something!
We do have Bails as an option there, though.

You are not suggesting Ainscough isn't good enough are you?
Carmont is obviously more experienced but he let a soft try in with a poor missed tackle V HKR and as he is a good player I'd sooner put that down to fitness problems than poor play. He may well have passed a fitness to play that game but you can either go with what is written on a bit of paper by the Doc that says he's fit or you can use your eyes to judge.
I am sure there have been many instances of layers passed fit in a fitness test not being selected as a precaution. We have the luxury of being able to rest Carmont and with that in mind I am surprised Nobby has not put Ainscough in the 19.
He could of course do as he did v Wakey and bring Ainscough in from outside the 19 but that just makes it look like he views Ainscough as only someone to play if there is no alternative and really he wasn't in his thoughts for the game at all.

| Drop Carmont, bring in Ainscough, put Bails to his centre to increase his defense and we're sorted. This allows JT to play.

Not at all Dave so don't try & put words in my mouth.
As stated MANY times I would play Roberts & Richards on the wing at the moment.
HOWEVER
If any of the 3/4rs werent fit I would play him. I would have also have played him last week as it was obvious that Carmont wasn't "Match Fit".

I agree wholeheartedly with that. I would think that most supporters have been longing for a good squad to give us options when things aren't working. Now we have a more than half decent squad BN appears not to want to use it. I think that is a mistake, It has been a mistake for the past few matches to play a clearly unfit Carmont. It almost cost us the game at Wakefield and had a huge bearing on the result against Hull KR.
I think it is important that in life we all learn from our mistakes, I for one make many of them but hopefully don't make the same one more than once.
I don't have anything against Carmont, he is an asset to the side, and I hope he is fully fit for the game tomorrow.
