| Great result...still I saw nothing that Ainscough couldn't have handled (maybe others could?)...tha main question is why were our forwards so on top tonight after some dire performances this season ...whatever the reason I would expect (or hope) to see more of it..

Its an unanswerable question though isn't it. Noble picked a team to win the game and we did. He cannot be questioned tonight,

Coley & Fielden have found a set. The back row is much more balanced, Bailey is grafting, Hock & Joel are attacking with brains and O'Loughlin is in superb form.
Hansen missing out has been to the benefit of our attack imo.

Your spot on. However had we lost tonight the consequences for Noble would have been, well, dire to be honest. He would have been slaughtered on both sites, and I would have been the first to criticise.
However, it must be said;
Brian, your tactics won us the game tonight. Fair play to you

You are correct that it is an unanswerable question how would we have gone with Ainscough in the team. I said the same thing on here earlier in the week. Perhaps it would have been 58 instead of 38, who knows but what Noble can't claim is some master stroke for the very reason we don't know what result the alternative would have brought.
But to say he can't be questioned is far too simplistic for a number of reasons not least rewarding Ainscough for his form and what not doing so will have done, but at the end of the day it all depends on what happens next. And I am sure you know what I mean by that.

I agree, but you cant slate Noble either because we played superbly and battered Saints.
The embrace and words between Ainscough & Noble suggest to me their isnt an issue there.

Typical DaveO post that.
There is every chance Sean Long would of kicked Ainscough to death. What Noble has done is protect one of his young players confidence from one of the best in game kickers and a winger known for his cross field bomb catching ability. It was the correct decision by Noble i cannot see why people like you can never give him praise.
