Warrington led 16-2 in Saturday's Grand Final, but their joy was short-lived as Wigan roared back to win the Super League title and extend the Wire's 58-year wait to be champions:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_10174.png |

With Briers gone that is a real possibility, but would a widnes lad play for warrington? ££££ says he would

How do I propose that? Am I in any position to propose such a thing? How possibly could I, as someone with nothing to do with the club propose something like that?
If I was there could I? Depending on my position I feel contracts can be 'adjusted' under mutual consent from the player and club.
Please don't ask me how we're going to get Fielden off his high contract. Naturally we all know, or should know we do not know the ins and outs of different contracts, so why and discuss them is beyond me.

I agree with this, Roberts does seem like another very short sited signing unless once he settles he is going to go to fullback where he has been very good in the past, as the reality of it is that both are on long term deals and are going nowhere.

It's clear to see where things went wrong.
Mathers was overrated at the club during the summer, he was seen as a true FB who is good enough to start at Wigan, this didn't work out.
Ainscough was underrated, the club didn't see him as a starting winger, hence why they brought in Roberts, so they'd have Roberts and Richards on the wings.
Look at it this way, what does it say for a young man like Ainscough who saw a 28yr old winger being brought in on a 4yr deal when Ainscough would have already known Richards had the other wing spot.
We are now having to work with 3 good wingers, and no true full back. The club is no contracted to the 3 wingers and scared of getting rid of one of them because they are all good players. But this is at a cost, the cost of the team as we don't have a true FB.
The club should have looked at the progression of Ainscough and realised he was on the verge of 1st team rugby at the back end of last season and not signed Roberts, remember at this stage we already had Phelps who could cover on the wing when Ainscough needed a break or was injured.
Roberts wage would have gone in the pot towards a new prop.
Bad vision from Wigan on this one. now they have to be ruthless to sort it for the good of the team.
