Perhaps not but for me it is a major part of the occasion. A derby for me is all about fierce rivalry and competition/one upman ship/bragging rights, the recent demise of Wigan has taken away this aspect for me, hopefully it will be reignited tonight.

As i said on another thread i am still more excited by tonight than i am or have been any other game this year simply because of the positive off field strides we have made in the last week.

I was going to suggest that in the initial post except most people would not class it as a derby due to the locality. That is now the biggest rivalry i think locality differentiates between a rivarly and a derby.

Either way i think it is a shame that in my opinion anyway we are not really involved in either the biggest derby or rivalry as it stands in the game.

Just my thoughts on the matter and we all know what they count for.......

The Epsom Derby.

Leeds vs Saints is probably the biggest derby. All the other derbies have been done to death, and in the case of Leeds Vs Bradford, and Saints vs Wigan arn't competetive anymore

Your right because why is it that every time the hull derby is played they have to kick off at 1pm or earlier to try and stop trouble could you imagine the hull derby kicking off at 8pm thats at least 9 hours of drinking if the pubs open at 11am.

Exactly. There are less police on duty when wigan play at saints in front of 17k than when hull kr play infront of 12k

There was about 10 Police at Barrow. Think they just wanted a day out.
