Quote: warriorweed "Yeah but I am sure that some people will try and attribute 7 of Smiths Tackles to Goulding to swap the situation around.
Just as an aside do you have any stats of most clean breaks by a Wigan player this season to give an indication of whether Goulding "offers nothing in attack".'"
Have a look here. Loads of stats

| Goulding is rightly dropped. He isn't good enough, but for some reason, ala Higham, he is considered a darling of the fans.
Team should be:
Amos Roberts,
Shaun Ainscough
George Carmont
Phil Bailey
Pat Richards
Sam Tomkins
Tim Smith
Stuart Fielden
Mark Riddell
Eamon O'Carroll
Joel Tomkins
Harrison Hansen
Sean O'Loughlin
Andy Coley
Gareth Hock
Thomas Leuluai
Iafeta Paleaaesina

There is no way he will drop Ainscough for Mathers. That would be as daft as him not giving Sam Tomkins a chance.

Apparently he's told someone who posts on here that Ainscough, injuries permitting, will be playing against Quins.

| I agree that it would be a daft choice but I just get the feeling that Noble is a little pig headed as far as Mathers is concerned.
Like it or lump it Mathers is considered our first choice full back and had he not been suspended would in all probability have played against Hull at Full Back, therefore considering the performances and results since I see no reason why Nobby would leave him out completely for this game.

And rightly so. Noble isn't daft and to drop him would make a mockery of his "those in form play" mantra.

I don't know how you conclude that considering when the two were both available for selection Mathers started at Full Back.
Would Roberts have started there against Hull and Cas if Mathers wasn't suspended ? - obviously it is only guess but I don't think he would have done.
The question whether he should be first choice would obviously yield an answer of yes, certainly given both his and Ainscoughs performances against Cas.

| Sam Tomkins and Sean Ainscough included in the squad. Well done Noble.
Goulding left out - no suprises there after his performance against Castleford. Fair enough.
If I was being fussy I'd have liked to have seen Paul Prescott in the squad but I'll let him off.
Let's hope he plays them.
