I can’t comment on the OP one as I’ve not seen it.

I can’t stand these tackles, they make me cringe. For me Flower has got off lightly with 2 matches.

To be clear I don’t think this is not a generic issue with the 3rd man in it is how the 3rd man enters the tackle. Flower was reckless with the amount of force he used to bring the KR player down. He needs to be far more controlled than what he was.

As for the VT, just ignore the minority of idiots making generalisations bit the criticism of the individual though OTT is fair.

Flower has been on the decline for a few years. Last year my only memory of him is standing up from a tackle pulling his face at the referee. I can't remember a single run or tackle that stood out. Add the cheap shots to his lack of effectiveness, that's when he's not injured, his time is definitely coming to an end, especially with the young lads chomping at the bit.

Let's be honest, that was a complete sh*thouse tackle.

He'll probably be in a home in his 80's and still getting abuse hurled at him over his red card at OT

Haven't seen a vid of the Partington one, which might explain why it is getting less comment.

If it's demonstrably worse than Flower's it must be a pretty bad one.

There is a video on twitter, it’s not the best quality but I’d say it’s worse than Flowers, he comes from a real distance and uses more force. At least Flower attacked the back of the knees at the bend, Oli looks like it was side on.

Definitely not. I hate those tackles. One positive is that Powell had stopped doing it, he was the worst for it.

I don't think that the Partington tackle was any any worse than the Flower one. If you watch it Partington is going in to make the tackle as the HKR player is still driving with his legs. At the last second the HKR player gets turned sideways by the other Wigan players and Partington is already committed and can't pull out of the tackle. The result is Partington then hits the legs from the side (against the natural movement of the knee)
Careless yes and a ban yes but not reckless.
No problem with the Flower ban, got what he deserved.

and its a good job too because when that last packet of bog rolls is on the shelf conventional tactics won't work
