| I loved watching Hampo, but Sam is a freak in terms of attacking skills and excitement. He also works damn hard and his defence in the World Cup was as good as anyone's. he too pretty much every high ball and Mae sone great tackles.
Rads was a great clubman butnjwhere near the level of Sam or Hampo .

| If you combine Sam, Rads and Hampo you have the perfect full back, also known as Gary Jack.

I'll leave decisions on who was your best fullback to those better qualified. Having said that, I think the excitement surrounding Sam's attacking skills would have been somewhat diluted had he played in the sides featuring Hampson, simply because so many of his team-mates were capable of the unorthodox and the undefendable as well.

I remember Jack, almost an Aussie Hampo with the blonde mullet. However I thought the two were pretty equal.
Personally the best 1 I've ever seen is Slater, he has it all.

He's capable of massive brain farts too.
Brett Mullens wasn't a bad 'un.

| Sam first, George Fairbairn 2nd, another outstanding fullback was Phil Blake, although he only played 10 games for us he had class, pure quality, had we not signed Frano Botica he could have been at Wigan for a few years (read John Monie's book, The Iceman, page 86.)

And he definitely doesn't do a bit of boogie too well!

| If you type Gary Jack into YouTube you will see how good he was in his prime.
Awesome defence as good as any I have seen, very much like Hampo, but going forward he had it all. Frightening pace and hands of a half. Complete 1 for me.
People forget his attacking prowess but watch him for Balmain and New South Wales, outstanding in attack.

| Was thinking more along the lines of "Garry Jack Legend" on YouTube, certain elements if his running remind me of Sam a lot.

| Paul Charlton played for Salford in the 70's. Whey ahead of his time, record try scoured for a fb for about 30 years. Only ever seen Stuart wright from widnes take him on the outside and only once. Greatest I've ever seen.
