He's clearly struggling to kick on from the pinnacle of his coaching career playing T&P with the Riversiders...

| We have a squad of 25 and two or three are unfit.
That is the responsibility of the head coach and he appoints fitness coaches to take care of it.
However, the players themselves have to accept the main responsibility. If 22 out of 25 can get themselves fit and stay at that level then the others should do likewise.
Perhaps this is the season those unfit players will have to shape up or ship out!

39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

I know what you mean, but I think this is also down the head coach, if he see's players he thinks are unfit, then surely he has the power to make sure they are fit? As in setting them a regime and getting them to do 1 on 1's with forshaw etc. There are institutes you can send players to for fitness/injury recovery as well.
I won't be judging Forshaw until I see how the fitness is under Maguire personally.

I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass, and I am all out of bubblegum.
Don't you struggle. Don't you fight. Don't you worry, cause it's your turn tonight!

My sig's about ready to burst if I put any more stuff in it.
I would be very surprised were Forshaw and Veivers with us next year if were gonna have a complete clean out then they need to have exactly that and not mess about. As silly as it sounds the hard work for next year starts real soon and if we wish to get off to a better start than are previous seasons this years pre season training is more important than ever.

| Mike Forshaw has to take some of the responsability for this then as does Brian Noble.
But in fairness to Ian Lenagan I can't disagree with anything he says. It's true. We're not well conditioned and you can tell that from looking at one or two players at the club.
I wouldn't have said it in the media though I would have been a bit more private. But then again maybe he needs to 'ruffle a few feathers' and shake up a few players like Karl Pryce and Mark Riddell.

I agree, not needed from Lenagan. The only reason he would say it publicly is to have a cheap shot at Noble.

No was a genuine question. I was actually away in Oz so didn't see these, was just interested.

Or maybe because it's the truth, Noble has left, fans are clamouring for news etc.
The guy will always be damned by one segment of the fans or another.

|
| sorry Father Ted in my opinion there was more than 2/3 players unfit.......our team appeared to fade in the last 10 mins of every game............their fitness levels where questionable at best...
the buck stops at noble as he is in overall charge of the squad.if they dont perform to the highest level then he was responsible and should of sorted it out

Just done a synopsis of everything you've ever written on this board. You don't need to post anymore as we can just cut and paste the above on to every thread. No need to thank me...saying goodbye will be thanks enough.

| the best conditioners are not the disciplinarians. thats the coaches job. the best fitness people are scientists who command respect by the coaches authority and by their own demeanor.
surey there are thse types of men working now in Super league?
