| Quote: Salty "How could a team with a 44% completion rate be the better team?'"
The more pertinent question for me is, how did we not beat a team with 44% completion in the first half and less than 60% across the whole game!
Warrington are a very poor side despite their spending, and can only occasionally turn it on and have a good day. Theyre another Castleford, which is why they'll never get near champions this year.
But the worrying thing for me was, Wire were so poor yet we were never really in the game. Dominated field position and possession yet lackluster and completely devoid of ideas near the line. We never looked like making a break and kicks were our best chance of scoring.
For Lam to come out and say that was 'outstanding' is baffling! He's undermining his own credibility with his post match comments...I think possibly out of mistaken loyalty to the players and wanting to keep their heads up, but you can't give them false praise like that when the performance was dire! I'm no big fan of wanes, but he would have at least told it how it was last night, and ripped into them where he needed to.
You get the sense Lam goes into the dressing room and tells them how good they are, and they were just unlucky and unfairly treated on decisions. Yes, we got some baffling decisions against us last night (the mamo try and the bibby one at the end which should have been awarded), yet even with those decisions, we were still chasing the game and wire always looked the more likely. Regardless of how poor wire were!
Towards the end the players had lost the plot....the victim/ world is against us mentality had consumed them, and all their energy was going into feeling aggrieved (whether with reason or not). Thats a dangerous mindset and you're never going to win like that.
We need to sensibly assess last nights performance as nowhere near good enough against a poor side, rather than bury our head in the sand and find reasons why we were badly done to.

Even in his 5 minutes he offered something different and carried a threat but what’s the point picking him? No Mitch Clark another baffling call. He isn’t perfect but he’s a point of difference again and if you have no intention to give Bourouh a decent crack, just pick the extra forward.
I can’t wait for Lam to go tbh. He’s just not good enough.'"
If Wane doesnt get the gig, would you have Maguire back? He seems to be on borrowed time at the Tigers as he has lost the dressing room and I cant see any other NRL team take a punt on him

| I suggest every single person saying he was knocked out looks at the try again, he has a cheeky look at Mamo racing away then faces back down. Play acting at its finest. It’s ok to admit one of your players has tried to con the ref,

| Quote: NickyKiss "I’d love to get worked up about the decision but it’s not the reason we lose the game and it’s an easy excuse for Lam to hide behind. He should be appalled at the attack we’re serving up and that’s on him. We have far bigger worries with Lam in charge than a player being accidentally caught on the head. The attack is that bad it felt like game over at 14-8 anyway, as I didn’t see where anymore points were coming from.'"
That was exactly what i said at the game.....at least lam has his excuse now! It was inevitable it was latched onto, yet, ridiculous try decision or not, we'd have still lost to an awful wire side. That was probably the worst ive seen wire play in a couple of years, yet they still outplayed us.
I'm generally a lam fan and think he's in an impossible position atm with the way the club have underfunded the team yet expected results. But he has to be realistic and has to expect better than that. To call that 'outstanding' and then blame marginal decisions which didn't affect the result, makes him look delusional!

| I can’t even give him the excuse if us being under funded. Yes I’d like to have brought a good replacement in this season for George Burgess but he has a squad that is costing up towards the cap limit and the team has fallen that low we’re averaging ten points a game over the last 9 matches. That’s pretty much disgraceful and it’s unacceptable. I sat earlier and thought about who the worst team I’ve seen in Superleague history were and came up with Workington Town in 1996. They averaged just shy of 15 points per game in that season, roughly the same as we average this season overall and nearly 5 points a game more than we average in these last 9 games. Now clearly we’re much better overall and the games changed but it’s a real eye opener about just how appalling our attack is.
The guy just can’t get performances out of anybody on a regular basis. He’s got two props in Bullock and Clark who can at least dent the line and just refuses to pick them. We’ve seen loads of players go backwards and very very few, if any improve. He’s doing more harm than good with the young players by flogging them and the end of this season can’t come quick enough. I feel for the players really. The effort is great but they look as lost as I am on what the game plan is.

He did, and if you were along the stand in the right position to follow Mamo and still see Marshall, you would have seen Marshall thump the ground. That wasn’t picked up on camera, the camera was following play. At that point he was suddenly prone knocked out!
And if he has failed a head assessment, I would say he’s let Wigan down, as he has took his kid-ologies too far and made himself unavailable for Sunday. We have all bluffed a bad back to get a day off work or being concussed at some point in our life. It’s not difficult to pretend your knocked out.

Yet concussion doesn’t require you to be unconscious.

100%, but Marshall was suddenly out cold. If he’d have had concussion issues, he’d had been on his feet trying to prove there’s nothing up with him and the doctor would be telling him the opposite, don’t kid me, your concussed and you’re having a rest for a week. Rugby players try to hide injury. Marshall did the opposite. He’s let Wigan down and I’d be pretty pist if that was a Wire player that tried a stunt like that.

You’re comments fall down when you take into account that he went off and failed a HIA therefore he is having a rest for a week.
The bottom line is he got kicked (or shinned if you prefer) in the head which caused him to loose the ball. If direct contact with the head is not a penalty then I don’t know what it.
Whether it is accidental, careless, reckless or malicious will only determine what, if any punishment is necessary.

Just like the last two seasons under the clown. Yet we've extended the clowns contact twice. Baffling.

| it was a hugely disappointing result and shows exactly where we as a club are at the moment, barely able to compete with a Warrington side that had been ravaged by Covid that caused 9 of their first team squad to either miss the game, or struggle through it.
God help us if we'd been facing a fully fit Warrington side.

You haven’t understood my post. Of course he failed the HIA. Because he cracked on he was knocked out. He wasn’t, he blagged it. We’ve all blagged it. We’ve all blagged a doctor. My point was, he wasn’t knocked out and then a few seconds later was. So how can my post fall down as you point out?
He’s let Wigan down as he’s unavailable for selection by carrying out and on a kid-ology. Leave that to football players to roll over 5 times and have the worst leg injury in the last 100 years.
I’ve no argument about the technicalities of the penalty or not. The point being Marshall acted the goat. Was it worth the bluff to try and get the call on a penalty and exempt himself from error, however small or sole.
Let’s be honest, Marshall should have handled that ball better, a brush against Charnley’s shin should not have caused him to lose possession. He knew that and that’s where the bluff got played.

| So he was that desperate to blag it, he conned the doc in to thinking he was concussed and therefore ruled himself out of the next game?
You’ve somehow outdone yourself Duckie

I think that would be covered under the careless part of the rule so that covers accidental contact. I can only remember accidental head clashes or contact with head not in possession being overlooked as non offences in last few seasons.
