It it wasn't for a dodgy penalty awarded to Wire for a ball steal despite it looking like Clark just dropped the ball trying to ground it we'd probably be 3 points clear of Wire!

To be in this place with the constant mass of absentees we've had to put up with is a credit to the players and the coaching staff.

It'd be nice to think we'll get up to full strength at some point and if we do, I think we'll be pretty tough to beat.

Yeah but everybody deserves to beat Wigan don't they? There is always an excuse. We should be on zero point because every side we play should have beaten us for one reason or another. Sod Dennis Betts, we bossed their team around the field with practically our youth team out. They dropped a couple of balls close to the line. Tough titty, things happen, if they should have won they would have, not scored NILL points. How the feck can a team that doesn't score a point deserve to win?

He must have watched a different game than me too! We lacked creativity again but in the circumstances it's understandable with no Sam, Williams, Lockers etc.
However defensively we were very resilient and our attitude was spot on. The try saving tackles by Flower and Charnley typified our grit and both those players (along with Mossop & TT) were magnificent. Let Denis think what he wants, his team were nilled, that's all there is to it!

Conditions did not help - we kept it simple , Widnes tried to spread the game and made more crucial errors. Given the weather it was always going to be difficult to play creative rugby.

Good win, great defensive performance especially with the team we had (looking at before kick off I thought we be lose with the team we put out) - 2 points in the bag, move on.

I have just watched the post match interviews on Wigan Tv given by some of the players and Management after the Widnes game.
Shaun Wane made what I thought was a disturbing comment regarding Sam being left out on Thursday, he said " both Joel and Sam hadn't trained for 4 weeks", seeing that Sam has only been back for about 5/6 games I hope this does not mean he as to be wrapped in cotton wool due to his knee swelling up between matches.
It would be a crying shame if this was the case and was an ongoing occurrence for the remainder of his career.

It is for him. I think it is the prat from the Wigan Today site who has many aliases because he kept getting banned there. He is the reason comments on that site are no longer allowed. He is a Wiganer but hates Wigan Rugby.
