| Yeah I just saw that myself about Charnley. Came straight here to post but you beat me too it lol. Seems a tad strange though considering his pregression up to last Friday. Don't think it's a wise move to drop him after one bad game. Won't do the lad's confidence any good. Guess that means it's gonna be Roberts and Goulding on the wings then anyway

I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass, and I am all out of bubblegum.
Don't you struggle. Don't you fight. Don't you worry, cause it's your turn tonight!

Marsh did nothing wrong against Wire. He was defensively sound against their best centre. Something only a few weeks ago we couldn't have dreamed of.
So whilst I don't agree with the dropping off Charnley. Josh did drop some high balls and make a couple of mistakes. Marsh in comparison was as solid as rock and had the better performance of the two on the night.

| But Marsh offers nothing going forward, Charnley as shown he can pull off big plays to win a match. So what he dropped a couple, its up to the rest of the team to offer protection in those situations.

Agreed. On the last performance, Marsh deserves to play.
And our right centre will most likely be up against Keith Senior this week, so he'll need to have another good game.

| Marsh has offered pretty much nothing in attack so far but his defence has improved massively since he first came into the team. With Charnley he's done fine defensively but has been caught out with some kicks, which might suggest he could be OK in the centres where he excelled for Hull KR. He does seem to offer more in attack than Marsh does. I do wonder why Marsh hasn't been tried on the wing because he definitely has the pace for it, and doesn't have to worry about passing the ball as much (which he doesn't seem too concerned with at centre really). Against Hull he took a brilliant catch from a cross field kick under pressure, he seemed completely confident dealing with it so I don't see what's stopping him from getting a game on the wing and Charnley being tested at centre.

| Still think Marsh is a winger and Charnley is a centre but quite obviously Maguire doesn't and as much as I don't understand it thats his call.
I'd have it down as one of the very very few he's got wrong up until now.

Same here! From what i've seen so far Marsh can catch a high ball and has lots of speed, which basically is all we need from a young winger at this stage. Bringing Charnley in at centre would take him away from alot of the bombs he is recieving, and just look at the way he has set the Hoff up twice this year so far, great centre play IMO, they would both be brilliant if they swapped positions.

I agree. The way he let him run 30 yards in the first half whilst jogging at the side of him having a chat was tremendous defence. Luckily the pass to the then unmarked winger (Goulding was forced to come in and do his job) was shocking.

He really can't throw the ball, watch him if he's at dummy half.

| Is it true that Goulding played at centre originally before moving to the wing? I personally believe he would, with the current state of our backline, be better playing at centre. Don't want to be too critical of Marsh, but he doesn't seem to offer much in attack, albeit his defence is strong. Goulding is equally strong, if not more so in defence and therefore think he would be surprisingly effective against the likes of Senior. Roberts would be able to line up outside him ensuring we have pace and a last tackle kick option on both the left and right. I doubt Madge would actually do this, but I just don't really have much faith in a Marsh/Goulding partnership. (Cue motm performance from Marsh setting up 5 tries for Goulding.)
