The fact that it's a struggle to name a few players better than him outside the "big three" props shows just how well he is playing.
It's a shame he does have more than his fair share of errors and penalties in his game as without them he would be a really top drawer player.

Of course.
If we could have taken a couple of errors and pens away from him in the Leeds cup game he'd have been the best prop on the field but they just seem to hold him back a touch. He's still a fine prop though and if we can keep him for next season along with Fielden and then bring in another prop(possibly Luke Bailey or Jeff Lima) to help share the workload whilst we keep developing guys like O'Carroll, Prescott, Mossop and Davies we'll be doing pretty well.
Add in the option of a certain Gareth hock coming back mid season to play abit of prop/second row and we'll be able to match or better most other packs in superleague.

No question that pack looks very good. The derby could see some fearsome clashes up front next year with Perry rumoured to be on his way to Saints and hopefully Soliola added to the back row
Graham
Roby
Perry
Puletua
Soliola
Wilkin
looks a pretty tidy 6

| Apart from the fact that Roby looks like spending his entire career as an impact player, that is.

Someone experienced like him to come in for 2 years would be a sound move for us i feel.'"

I'd thought Soliola had been brought in as a centre?

He was for this season, but I think the intention is for Wheeler to grow into the centre position (along with Shenton next year hopefully).

Good point. Wheeler looks the best out of the current Saints crop of youngsters that are around the first team. Soliola has played back row for the Kiwis before so no problem for him there. According to whispers the Shenton deal is pretty much done, just hasn't been announced yet

I though Wheeler was a stand-off? He doesn't seem to have the right build for a centre to me.

He is/was. He's performed really well in the centres for us though - nice step, good hands and can finish. He's not played much if any 6 in the first team. He may well have been pencilled in for a switch to 6 when Pryce leaves, but I'd like to think it would be Kyle/Gaskell in the halves and Wheeler in the centres in the fullness of time (if we can keep hold of Eastmond).
Lots of water to go under the bridge before then though.

Looking forward to seeing this Gaskell. Read lot's about him over on your board.
