| the question you have to ask is does he have the guts to drop big name players for outstanding youngsters that in all truth would die for the club.
he had the guts to drop coley after your first round defeat too us but me personally i would drop tim smith he offered nothing in creativity and its probably been said many a time letting higham go was a bad mistake just as i feel wakefield letting ferres go will come back to haunt wakefield.
you have no cohesion at the moment riddell doesnt look fit, smith looks uninterested surely he could give tomkins a start in a game it cant get much worse can it for you fans time to give him a go i feel.
one thing wigan must be commended on his there pricing plan 16 pound for away fans is outstanding to be seated it was 20 pound to stand at leeds and hull kr is 20 pounds to sit in a makeshift stand, its 18 pounds at wakefield so you offer the best deal in the league in my opinion

| Quote: Ian.H "eddie gordo you have gone from
[iYou had a good run when you were the only full time professional team [/i
then you decided
[iDuring the 80's and 90's Wigan had more money to spend than any other team, and you reaped the benefits - fair play to you[/i
And now you think
[iYou were head and shoulders above everyone else for many years, due to a combination of high investment and good coaching. [/i
You have not got a clue really , have you
I think all those 3 quotes point to the same thing.
Where I probably went wrong was trying to have reasoned debate with you bunch of clowns.

| to be honest i agree.
over the last few seasons my passion and devotion to wigan has completely decreased. If wigan lost i would be gutted; and it would put a downer on my whole week. But now, i expect a loss. As negative and fickle as it sounds im never suprised if wigan lose, no matter to what team. I think my lack of passion is due to the lack of passion displayed by the team, fans try there hardest to get behind them; but week after week they let us down.

| Amount I support the club is as high as ever.
Amount of depression I feel each passing week is increasing.

I don't think it’s the same thing at all . You started off saying all the previous success was down to being the only full time squad , which was wrong .
You then changed your tune to it was all down to us having the extra money , again wrong .
You then finally admitted , that good coaching may have played a part , which is correct , well done .

| Quote: LoyalFan "As an outsider looking in.... please allow me to pass my opinion on all this as I know what it's like to follow a team who upset you week in week out.
Because you are Wigan doesn't mean that you can't have a bad run... it doesn't mean you are going to be successful year in year out. Try 30 years of struggle and then you may have a right to feel down about things. The last few years haven't been great for your club, but I'd swap that for our recent history. Is it perhaps that because of the successes of the past that makes it harder to cope with what is happening now ?.'"
90% of wigans who come on here dont exprect to be top of the league every year and win every trophy going . most of us are sensible posters with a good knowledge of the game , its the style of play , themanner of defeat , the whole predictability of it
Quote: LoyalFan "I don't buy all the salary cap rubbish that people throw around... I hated playing Wigan during the 80s and 90s.... but when I look back I can safely say that they were a joy to watch... It was rugby league how rugby league should be.... and for that alone you should all be proud to be fans of your club... and be more determined to stick by the club through the hard times..'"
absolutley spot on , rugby how it was supposed to be played ,not the mind numbing drivel we have seenover the last few years under noble
Quote: LoyalFan "Just going back to the point about taking Feka off the field.... How long had he been on the park ? One of the worst times to concede would be just before half time.... he may have been good going forward... but how was he performing in defence at that time. Was he slower off the mark... were the quicker players for Castleford targeting him ? There are much more factors that need to be considered for taking a player from the field than just his forward game.
Stick with it... it'll come.... there aren't many coaches going spare at the moment.'"
it was the usual noble times for feka , bring him on after between 16 and 20 mins , then take him off around 35 36 mins regardless .
like i said , i told my mate when he would go off .
there are 2 things here , if feka cannot make do the extra 5 to HT then he shouldnt be playing
if he can , but noble continually takes him off at that time week in week out noble is at fault
2nd half the times arent normally as accurate , but as a rule its normally around 50 mins till 70-75
that isnt the main point to my original post though , its thefact that the style of play is boring me to death
its hard work watching them , even going to the game is now becoming a chore and it shouldnt , it was a passion , travel times and distance were never a consideration , yet its becoming difficult to go to home games due to the boring , predictable , passionless , uneventfull performances
never mind , we have a full week to put humpty back together

| I started watching Wigan just after they won the CC in 1965. They then had a fallow period of 20 years before winning it again in 1985 during which time they got relegated. Having been patient for those 20 years watching Wigan get beat heavily by the likes of Leeds and Saints I have absolutely no qualms about Wigan winning so much for 10 years. Now I have to endure another fallow period but thats the way it goes.
Wigan will rise again and the current crop of young stars in the making at the club may well bring that success sooner rather than later. It is raw talent that brings success not money. Many people who have a pop at Wigan's glory years miss the point and ignore the fact that the core of the team were local Wigan lads who happened to have quite a bit of raw talent. Edwards, Gregory, Lydon etc.

Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.

| Ian Holloway said on soccer am this morning 'Fans want to be entertained and want to win'.
We are getting neither, we showed glimpses yesterday ,like when someone said, when our game plan went out of the window.
The thing is, if we got rid of Noble today and another coach came in that new coach would just say to the players 'Just go out there and enjoy yourself, play your natural game', and we would leather whoever we came up against, he needs to give the players more creative freedom because this 5 drives and a kick bores me to tears, I know sometimes throughout the game you have to to gain field position and for time to set up a move or something but not for the whole match and then when we start getting beat turn on the style and try and scrape it, against teams like Cas we should be beating them by at least 14, at least!!
And anyone who say 'Well the standard of superleague has gone up, you can't expect to beat everyone every week, anyone can beat anyone on their day' etc doesn't have the winning mentality, that's what we need at Wigan, not cockyness, a winning mentality, a player needs to think 'Who are these men Cas? Thinking they can come to our ground and show us up infront of our fans, lets show them what we can do!
Most of their team are average aussies and NL players FFS!

24084.jpg Disco - Expansion of the game is a good thing, undoubtedly, but in the main what people simply want to assert is that you don't kill the roots to spread the tree.
The Curtism - The battles are fought on the field and the friends are made in the bar. There's no hatred among real men.

| Get over yourselves. If we've got a team full of average aussies, then yours must be even worse. But I see it's still the same old "big club, little club" mentality that even though you lost you still have better players all over the field.
You don't have a divine right to beat everyone.

I support Wigan, I expect them to win every game they play. Especially against poor teams like Wakey and Cas. With more fans than any other team I expect us to be more successful off the field also, making lots of money and using it to develop a strong team not challenging for honours, winning them!!!!!! Thats what mentality we need, we dont want to challenge for honours thats like saying all we want to do is get to the grand final or semis, not for me I want to win everything!
