I think the point he was trying to make was that IL could come out and say "Brian is going, the new coach will be announced in due course" and you said that would be daft. Having seen Celtic do it, imo it seems logical.

Hey, all our positions on these things are well known. I don't want to get into it again - causes ill feeling after a while. But if someone calls me out, I have to respond and if possible - and it was in this case - make him look an even bigger plonker.

That is exactly the point. They announced their coach was leaving and a new one would be announced in due course before their last game. So all those saying you can't announce Noble is going without saying who his successor would be need to take note - including IL

If IL has nothing positive to announce then he will get beat down with it.

"Bloody hell, how can he not already know who the next coach is"

"we want Dave back" and so on.

Something that is getting thrown around at those who dont think IL is magic, yet nobody has ever said it, so why?

But given the fact everyone is convinced Noble is going yet there is no announcement people are speculating that he doesn't know who the new coach is anyway. He is getting "beat down" already because of the way he has handled this issue so far.

If he had said Noble was leaving and a new coach would be appointed in due course would [iyou[/i have complained? I wouldn't. As well as putting Noble in the picture officially which is what he deserves, it would have killed off the uncertainty that Noble might actually have been given a new deal which a lot of fans do not want. So even if we all think he is not going to be here in 2010 until it is announced he won't be, there is a nagging doubt he will get a deal at the 11th hour.



No one wants him back.
