Ben Barba potential time out away from the NRL gold fish bowl and in time to replace the obviously exiting Tomkins? Very similar players in style and I'm sure Sam's wages would be promising to Barba as well as a less intense media focus on him.

Sounds like Barba needs time away from the game full stop and as and when he's better he'll be back playing in the NRL.
Regardless of issues he's too high profile to be moving to superleague in it's current state.

Mr Koukash the new owner of Salford said this morning on BBC northwest TV that he could not understand why his massive offer for Sam Tomkins had been refused.
He went on to say that if Sam ever came on the market he would compete with the
RU and the RNL for his services(RNL-MAN THE LIFEBOATS)

he cant compete for players like Sam, no-one in superleague can.......Union and NRL have double the salary cap so the best players will consider long and hard, double money at least or stay in Superleague....mmmmmmmm

You could have said the same about wire a few years back. IMO he is most welcome to the fold, it's just a shame that the current rules prevent him from ploughing the money into the sport that he appears to want to. |
