I think if you took say Widnes and added Sinfield they would win more games than if you took Widnes and added Inglis.
Inglis is a world class fullback, he is probably going to go down as a legend of the game, but Sinfield takes a whole side and lifts them to better, Inglis himself is just a top quality player.
If i could watch any player in the world, it would be Greg Inglis, if someone handed me £1.7m and said build a squad, I'd start with Kevin Sinfield.

| He is a very club good captain (the best in SL) and deserves recognition for that.
But best player in the world? Nowhere near. He is not even international class.

So why hasn't he raised the standard of our international team, for whom his performances have been patchy / mediocre.

| IMO, the Golden Boot winner should be a player that every team in the world wants to try and fit into their side. Sinfield does not fit this description, Cameron Smith however, does.

I can see your point but I think Cronk or Smith or a hand full of other ozies would help a struggling team win more games than Sinfield would. They have the leadership skills plus the eye catching ability.

I agree people really need to look at the bigger picture here. In the bigger matches when it really matters he hardly ever puts a foot wrong and control the games. Whilst there are far better players in the game atm there is no one player that can control a tight match like him especially in SL. Wether he is the best player over a season that's another matter but when a game really matters he is usually the man of the match. People will say it should be for the overall season and i do agree that point. But the best peak at the right time and he has done this year on year for almost a decade.
He has won the award for the wrong reasons maybe but does not change the fact he is the best big game player in SL history.

No back line in rugby can play behind a beaten pack.

If you don't bother to go to the game when you live in the locality then you are not really a fan and therefore your views are invalid. It's simple.:icons39ad_files/4821-1859san_c-msnicons.jpg |

My views of Sinfield are as follows,he is a great Captain, goal kicker and tactical kicker.
But at International level he is someone who has been found out in is chosen posistion which is loose forward, this as meant that he has often moved to standoff. But this can be explained with there being a dearth of standoffs in the British game and also the need to have him in the team for his kicking game.
I was at Huddersfield for the cup semi and I must admit he kicked Wigan to death that day,he went on to do the same thing to other teams at the back end of the season.
But to say that he is a better player than Smith,Thurstan Inglis and Slater etc etc is pushing it a bit.
To add a bit more to the discussion for Leeds fans as well as Wigans is my view that if Sam Tomkins was to play at standoff (in my opinion his best posistion for International Rugby) Kevin would lose out.
I do not think Kevin would get in at standoff the reason being that for the posistion he has no pace for the International game.

| Sinfield is a great player. Top top kicking game and leads from the front. I can however probably name at least 5 better 13s in the World let alone players.
*For those who will say he's a 6 then I'll name 10.
