In fact I should have posted this last Wednesday but you know how things are!
A quick few lines with the latest on the Brigantes Supporters Evening.
To all those that have pre-ordered tickets I will be getting in touch shortly with your Guest list number which on arrival you will need to quote for admittance.
All those that I have managed to get tickets too (And Have Paid!) they only need to present on the door for admittance , the rest will get their Guest number and can Pay on the Door.
Also Note your entrance fee also includes food on the evening including Curry, Meat & Potato Pie (obviously!) plus Hot dogs for the kids amongst other things.
I am pleased to advise (Not announce
) that we have managed to secure the service of a couple of well known faces who will be in attendance on the evening!
Joining us will be Ex Wigan Great Britain and New Zealand Internationals Bill Ashurst & Graeme West!
"Sash" will be in attendance for most of the evening and will hopefully regale us with some Stories of his playing career both in this country and during his successful spell down under with Penrith.
"Westy" is with us for an hour or so but has to leave before 9 for a prior engagement but has made room in his schedule to come along and support the evening!
As some of you will be aware Westy has an autobiography coming out soon and we hope to be able to discuss this with him and we are hoping too arrange for us to be able to take pre-orders on the night and get Graeme to sign them with personalised messages from the Big man himself for delivery after the release date for anyone wishing to purchase on the Night!
On top of their service in a playing capacity both of these legends of the game have also done countless hours working with Wigan's local amateur clubs and their dedication to producing future Rugby league talent in Wigan has been astounding!
Playing the Pantomine villain for the evening we have also been lucky enough to obtain the service of SL Official Dave Sharpe who will be officiating the evening and keeping an eye on proceedings. Lets hope he does a better job than that Bloody New Zealander on Saturday!
Dave is originally from Australia where he officated 2nd grade and on his move to England 3/4 years ago joined the RFL where he has worked his way up and last season performed 4th Official, In goal Touch judge and Championship referee duties amongst other things.
We hope that Dave will be able to field any questions on the rules of Rugby League any of you may have and hopefully be able to give us an insight into the background of what it takes to be a RL & SL Official!
To accompany these guys we are also pleased that we have managed to secure the Challenge Cup for the evening and for a small charge (£3) anyone in attendance will be able to have their Photo taken with, what to many, is the greatest RL Trophy of them all!
We do have the service of a Photographer on the evening but in a small amendment to last years proceedings we will allow anyone who wants to bring their own cameras to use them for a reduced charge of just £2!
We will also have Brigantes merchandies for sale inc Scarves and we are hoping to have the newest Pin Badge available for sale.
Finally as many of you know, last year we had many gifts donated to us for Raffle/Auction on the evening and once again many donations have been made by individuals and the Wigan club itself.
We are proposing to run the event similar to last year where for £5 you will be able to purchase an envelope with Raffle tickets containing 5 x tickets to win these fabulous Donated prizes!
