Only played 3 games thus far and whilst looking very impressive going forward shocking in defence. More of an Ainscough project at the moment than the kind of player we should be targeting.

I have only seen his tries. He is a natural runner.

Would have thought it would be hard to judge his defence because Wingers don't have to do much of it in Union.

I have to say today showed why we are interested in Chase and have signed Lauaki, we have no x factor in the pack, nobody who can create from am offload after drawing a few players in. Our second row is too 1 dimensional.


same for the halves we need 1 strike runner along side an organiser.

I know Feka has taken a slating in his time but he was made for days like today, that bit of something different would have served us well in the final third of the pitch.

I see Lauaki put anther good performance in for Hull today.

Thought he was excellent to be honest. Put in a really good shift. Worked very hard at one stage seemed to be taking every drive in for Hull.

I have said this for a long time. Hansen and Farrell work hard but havent got a pass or offload between them. Hoffman is a very good player but in many ways is just the same as these but a much better version. we definately need someone who can provide something different in the second row.

We have Hock.

We dont need Lauaki.

I know what you mean jon, but I'm unsure that Lauaki is the answer. We'll certainly benefit from having Hock on board next year. That's if he get's his mentality right first.

I've discussed with you before of what a fan I am of having contrasting styles at HB. And I'm afraid at present Finch and Deacon are both playing the same role. Hopefully Mellor can come in next year and offer that elusive pacy runner that were missing so badly in the halves.

So Sam Powell (U'20s player of the year) is ahead of Mellor who has been putting decent performances against matured players in the Championship?

Surely if Powell is ready then he will be next in line to be loaned out for 12 months?

Different style of players, i think Mellor is a line breaker and Powell more of an organiser and rugged defender. I hope both players get a chance next season.
