Interesting that it says "close to signing" rather than 'in talks', 'rumoured to be' or something similar. Suggests to me that they know something.

Hopefully the guy can come in and sprinkle abit of the Melbourne magic on us. They've built a side around their homegrown players and shrewd signings and thats what we need to do here.

That's very true, the Melbourne model of team building would suit are club down to a tee. We have the youngsters we always have, what's let us down in the past have been are overseas signings that were brought in for experience and leadership, get that part of are recruitment right and we'll be on to a winning formula.

As Rouges has previously mentioned, it may not be a problem as a number of Current head coach's in SL have no international experience.

I don't think there would be a problem with players taking the micky out of the coach if that was the case

I hope, if McGuire signs, that doesn't mean that Waney leaves. He is so highly thought of at Wigan. It would be a crying shame to see him take that skill elsewhere.
