I disagree. We've won loads of games this season in the last 20 minutes. You kept at us in the cup semi and we didn't fall away. The last 20 last night was a cup hangover IMO and winning the cup is possibly why we'll not get to the GF this year. No one outside of Hull can even begin to understand what winning at wembley meant to the club and it will be hard for us to peak again after that.
We created enough opportunities in the 1st half to have the game won but we didn't take them and you were worth winners in the end. If you're not better than that next week I expect wire to win though

| 2 similar sides. IMO both struggled in final third of the pitch but that SL .
Doesn't anyone on here rate Bateman ? 110 % both in defence and ball in hand, thought he threatened every time he took on our line .
Sam T has become pantomime villain, at times seems to annoy his team mates , certainly not deserving of an international place which shows how weak SL is !

1649_1338292262.jpg I have followed the LONDON CLUB since I was in my teensl even though born in St Helens and still live nearby and went to the first game at Fulham, also Big West Ham Supporter:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_1649.jpg |

| As I just said on another thread Gelling gave 200% last night as did Williams, but I just can't work out why Tierney is even given a shirt currently, he is a liability and it looks as if the players have little confidence giving him the ball? Hampshire out on loan looks much better all round.
SL standard is really dropping and yes Sam T has been disappointing, but the game itself is a shambles, I could not believe the figures 17 minutes into the second half how long the ball had been in play all the game, it is a disgrace.
But last night was further proof that the standard of referees is abysmal, Thaler pulled Wigan up in the first half several times, and just ignored the constant flops and holding down from Hull, he is so weak getting the players onside, and the references to the video referee are a joke recently? there seems no consistency? Thursday evening I gave up watching the match as I was bored and sick and tired of the referee shouting or screeching more like a girl, then the mates attitude with players, telling players well done with a tackle, same with get onside, penalise them, but holding down and now playing for penalties makes the game look a farce, when players often go for the penalty and the tacklers are off them?
For too long we have called RU kick and clap, but we are getting even worse than they were.

Is that a serious question about Bateman? I would assume most Wigan fans rate him as our best player.

You don't think Wires defence was good in the Challenge Cup final?
Your comment shows you haven't done ant research before commenting. As others have said, we've won lots of games in the last 20 including the Challenge Cup final.
Wigan have a great defence, but you would you kill for our attacking options. TBF, you tackled us out of the game yesterday, it was pretty phenomenal defence at times and then took chances in broken play and deserved the win imo.

If you don't bother to go to the game when you live in the locality then you are not really a fan and therefore your views are invalid. It's simple.:icons39ad_files/4821-1859san_c-msnicons.jpg |

| Referees predictable errors game sims to fast imo Ball steal effectively a lottery - is it time we went back to emphasis on ball carrier ? You can steal ball regardless of numbers in tackle ( say 3) RU seem to be able to keep possession irrespective and no Thaler didn't cost us the game.

hull were no worse than wigan for holding down and slowing the play down, we blew our chance of winning after yeamans' lunge at the line and bowden dropping the ball from a drop out, disappointed yes but not downbeat, if it means 2nd place and a home game vs saints, who have been fortunate in their last two games to play us after our wembley win and a depleted cas team, im quite confident we would make it 4 wins from 5 against them

If you allowed ball steals with more than one defender in the tackle the game would become a farce. Teams would kick out of their own half for territory regardless of the tackle count, players would focus on protecting the ball and finding the floor rather than fighting for metres, every other tackle would end with players with their arms round the ball trying to claim possession; forcing the referee having to determine who has possession and whether the ball was stolen before/after the tackle was complete. The game has its flaws but what you are suggesting would be totally unwatchable.

It wasn't unwatchable when ball stealing was allowed with more than one player in the tackle in the past. It was much better. None of your downsides ever occurred. The current rule penalises defenders when the fault often lies with the attacking player for carrying the ball loosely. We see this a lot where players even try to milk penalties or the ref awards one when in fact the attacker just dropped the ball.

| If it was just a just a question of refs expecting ball-carriers to take more responsibility for ball security, and calling more 'loose carries', I think most fans would support you in that. I fear what's being suggested would lead to an awful union-style mess, though.
