Pre-season friendly against Lancashire Lynx roughly 10/12 years ago maybe? Cant really remember
Oh and The Shay too! Football is still played there i think. |

Did we used to play more frequently at football grounds in the old days and when was the first time we played at a major football stadium?
I was with my dad at Maine Road for the 89 CC semi-final against Warrington ( Joe Lydon's 60 yard drop goal!) and he told me he'd been at Maine Road in 1950 to see Wigan's epic Championship victory over Huddersfield when Wigan had 8 stars missing -all GB tourists on their way to Australia.
IIRC, he also mentioned the White City Stadium in London - not sure when that was. May even have been a GB international game.

Seriously though, are we talking stadia where football is also played, or stadia where the stadium is owned by the football club or organisation?
If it's the latter then you can count the HJ, KFC, Millennium and White City out. Highfield RL club (a precursor to London Broncoquins) did play at White City once upon a time in the thirties when Ray French was getting use out of his first bus pass |
