| Hello all, not sure where to post but this seemed as good as anywhere!
Just read the talk in AUS is that your trying to get Willie Tonga, not sure if its Hock transfer fee or totally separate.

| Quote Finfin="Finfin"I've always been a big Hock fan, but thinking about him and winning games, I am struggling to remember any where he has actually come up with something which has made a major difference in a tight game, which forwards like Graham, Lockers, Sinfield, Peacock, Westwood (even the likes of Feka) etc could reel off. Cameos within games he certainly has in his cv.
Would love to be proven wrong.'"
I agree totally with you on this one Finfin,i too have always marveled at the genius of Hock's play although the majority of these were in walk overs when we were the totally dominant side,i haven't seen too many of these performances when we were in the trenches so to speak,a classic example is this seasons GF semi against Leeds where he was almost anonymous
Gareth is a luxury player who can rip sides to bits when it suits but i would swap him anytime for Gareth Ellis

So that puts paid to the rumour of a bust up with Wane because Hock's squad number had been given to Farrell then I assume?

Seems odd that he's been given Hock's number.

| What numbers Hock got?
Maybe the club thought he was nailed on to leave. I wonder who's got the 4 shirt also!

Surely it isnt that hard to just swap numbers late in the day, very odd as Pemps said

| Odd to change his shirt number. Maybe he's planning on using Hock for impact? Definitely think he needs to be rotated more. Did way too many 80 minutes last season imo.

It seems that Parramatta are having major problems in their efforts to sign Israel Folau,it seems that the NRL are objecting in a big way to how Parramatta finance his contract.
This is throwing all plans to keep under the cap into chaos.
Below is a small piece of an article in Thursdays Sydney Morning Herald,it seems that the Hock negotiations are over.
"The delays in finalising Folau's deal have already had repercussions. The club has all but given up on luring English forward Gareth Hock to the Eels, while they wade through the Folau fine print.
Manly this week announced the signatures of Eels players Justin Horo and Esi Tonga, as the Eels attempt to free up salary cap space. More could follow if the Eels are unable to reach a suitable arrangement with the NRL. Willie Tonga, a former teammate of Folau's, has been mentioned as a player who might make way for his fellow Queenslander".

| It's still bittersweet. He's only staying because they can't sort out a contract for him, not because he wants to.

From the rumours going around its more likely he wants to stay but the club wants him gone but are not going to let him go on the cheap.
