And yet presumably you approve of him significantly upping the pay of our best youngsters in order to keep them at Wigan?
It's a balancing act and it's about priorities. He also mentioned that he envisaged 'in the medium term' that we are seeking to provide the bulk of our players from out own Academy, with about three world-class players from elsewhere.
He also mentioned that the current situation would change radically in 2010, when five of our current big earners come off contract. |

Yes I did.
However, it is Tomkins and sorry but I disagree with Noble's argument and would have spoken up about it. I actually found his comments interesting and would have enjoyed Noble having the full evening to discuss the team.
I disagree because A) The young men are ready because if they are not we must be doing something wrong given youngsters are fine at Castleford, at St Helens, at Leeds etc etc, in the NRL and B) They are not selected on merit. Sam should have been given games from the bench after Whitehaven. Mathers was never selected on merit. Joel Tomkins was hailed as an example but he was not selected because he was ready. He was selecyed because Lockers got injured and Noble had no choice.
You are allowed to think and agree/disagree with coaches etc.
I agree with his comment re wing play. Unfortunately, if the tatics are right in the middle and you make holes up the middle you get stroll in tries out wide E.G N.Z in the World Cup |
