That's what I was thinking.

| I really don't think, like most saints fans, McManus will be that bothered.
I've heard the same story about every new stadium
I'd rather you laugh at our current stadium for the belief/knowledge there's a couple of wigan shirts within the stadium, than laughing at our run down stadium with holes in roof.
what I will say though, in a day and age where people cant fart without a photo ending up on facebook, Twitter or YouTube, there is no photographs on here

You used to insult KR. So I'm happy all you 'have over us' is this about the shirts. If you get me

I think the point he was making was that there's been one or two 'teething problems' with the roof at the Screwfix Stadium

And what has that got to do with our respective stadiums? Please at least try and keep up with the thread pal.

I was merely responding to PS who insinuated that the only thing Wigan have over Saints is a few shirts that may or may not be hidden within the walls of Saints' new ground. I merely pointed out that Wigan have much more than that over Saints. HTH

| Whatever prank you wacky Wigan fans have pulled at Saints' new ground, it surely can't match the stunt that the esteemed Saints' fan Terry Leahy pulled off back in the 90's, when he bought Central Park, built a supermarket over the top of it, and sent you lot off to grovel at the feet of Mr Whelan and his little football club....

I know, it's terrible playing in a 25,000 seater stadium that we pay buttons for and don't have to contribute to any repairs! I know some of the traditionalists will disagree, but facilities wise, I'd take the DW over CP any day.
I should point out that I'm not knocking LP at all. It looks a fantastic stadium and I can't wait for Good Friday. We need more modern 21st century stadiums in SL.

| I've seen mobile phone video footage of someone putting in a Wigan t-shirt, and bits of Wigan stationary like a pencil case, a pencil and a ruler!!! Was under a stand though not the pitch that i saw! Maybe on a video sharing website by now.
I saw this footage about 6 months ago though!

Personally, I thought Central Park was great, a proper rugby ground, with a good atmosphere.....DW is poor in comparison has an actual RUGBY LEAGUE ground.
Always makes me laugh when people go on about facilities.....Jeez, its 90 minutes, standing watching a rugby match, not a trip to the opera....As long as you aren't stood a foot deep in mud and other folk's urine, then what's the problem.
Of course we don't want to stand still as a sport and be stuck in archaic grounds, but I really think a lot of the new grounds have struggled to find their own 'voices' in terms of atmosphere.
The problem in the 'good old days' was that most clubs neglected their stadiums and let them fall to rack and ruin....As a traditionalist, I'd have much prefered it if Wire had shown some foresight to keep Wilderspool upgraded at various intervals, instead of letting it rot.
