Quote: 19 Leagues "Really enjoyed that, not seen a match like that in ages!

Thought we lost it in attack but we did really well to come back and win it especially with 12 men! Joel was f00king stupid he deserves a 3 match ban for that. BUT Ganson should have sinbinned both him and whoever it was he was fighting with 20 seconds before, bottled it big time.

Sam T & O'Loughlin won it for us today.'"

Dont think he did much atall today, Hull cut him off at the back numerous times and he didnt have a big impact on the game. Lockers didnt have he's best game but i'd agree he won us the game with his long passes.

We miss Lockers massively in attack when he has to move to stand-off and play a more structured role. He along with Sam are our to biggest attacking weapons playing of Tommy and Deacon at first receiver.

Fully agree. How that Willie Manu stayed on I'll never know.

That sending off was completely the fault of Ganson who lost his Gonads today.

I think you'll find they're not lost, only on loan from Sky when the cameras are in town...

Thanks for your input. Sam brings a lot of it on himself but there's no excuse for smashing him late when the tackle has already been made. No place for foul play, it's a tough enough game without players throwing elbows and punches at each other.

Quote: DannyT "Number of points to go into today but you can't fault the lads for digging in and showing the required bottle that champion-quality squads have.

Injuries
Deacon got himself in the wrong position for a tackle and ended up splitting his head open, covered in blood and apparently has gone to hospital to get everything sorted. It is a concern tho with no backs on the bench, his injury record is now appalling and I worry for his health if he continues, he can't take the knocks these days
Mossop came off with his arm hanging so looked like the shoulder has gone again.

Ganson
Didn't protect Sam at all, some serious foul play towards him that wasn't dealt with sufficiently and meant open season for the thuggery to follow. Didn't see how the Joel/Yeaman thing started but Joel was getting a right pasting and did well to land a few back. Can the ref sin-bin for scrapping? If so they should've both gone but to then give Joel the ball was stupid, 5 mins after the adrenaline rush, the game had calmed down so he should've been subbed for his own good. Ganson was the only person to see that penalty at the end and I'm glad he didn't steal the limelight.

Very happy to get the win because we were awful with our attack until Locky got hold of the ball towards the end. Jeff Lima was poor, McIlorum poor with the ball as usual but he never lets us down in defence, not starting 9 material for me though. Special mention for Charnley, by far the superior player out of him and Marsh and did everything asked of him, kick returns straight and hard and finished his tries, well done son!'"

Maybe wrong but i thought i saw him windmilling his arm over near the tunnel after he got took off so hopefully it was just a knock and not completely knackered.

i can agree with you on that mate, i havent seen the game so cant comment really on anything that happened today, i was just generalising that you cant have it both ways (sam i mean not you).

If it was late like you said, then surely the player who made it will be found out like cross was last week on myler, funny im sure that was ganson too! icon_rolleyes.gif

I should probably add I don't want to sound like I'm slagging Marsh off, I just don't feel he offers much to the first team, whereas Charnley seems to have the physical size to be an asset.

Agreed. I'd bring Pryce back rather than play Marsh. He is just not ready for SL, we look so defensively weak down that side with Goulding and Marsh.

Quite simply Ganson has a 'Wigan complex'

The amount of cheap shots from Hull FC tonight were a disgrace and yet he wonders why guys like Joel do stupid things like he did??

I was directly in front of the Yeaman/Joel incident and without a shadow of a doubt Yeamen not only hit Joel in the tackle but then punched Joel twice in the face as well. All of this being in front of the TJ. I can’t honestly see a reason why Yeamen wasn’t given a 10 min break for it?

In all fairness we made it hard on ourselfs today deacon was badly injured early on and the pressure was on I think hull fc played very well for 70 mins obst was outstanding for them and the forwards radford, omeley, fitzgibbon never stopped but if you want to be the champions you have to win sloppy games I think this is our best start to a season in yrs and we have half of the team sitting in the stands. On the joel incident it was only time before it happened Willie Manu and yeaman were at it all afternoon.

That's the problem with the on report system and after match disciplinary analysis - it doesn't benefit the side that are playing. Five different cynical attempts were made to injure S. Tomkins today - Manu with two swinging high shots, Luauki with a chokehold grapple and a swinging arm while prone on the floor, and finally Yeaman with a tackle whilst in the air. If any had succeeded then Wigan would have undoubtedly lost and it would have been irrelevant what happened at the disciplinary afterwards.

I just dont understand WHY Ganson didnt sinbin anyone after the 3rd fight before the Joel sending off? Just to calm things down abit, but he just let it escalate. Absolute bell end. Any more of that and you'll be taking a break. mods.

I don't question his bottle, there is no harm in binning a player from either side to let them cool down, this is the best way to do things. I do not defence what Joel did because it sounds bad IMO, but Joel shouldn't have been on the field and neither should Yeaman, if there was a scrap then send them off for 10mins.
