the club have got it right for once, Online and phone availability so season ticket fans like me who live over 100 miles from Wigan and travel to every home and away game can purchase a ticket at first opportunity.

Wigan used to do that back in the 80s. They'd play the game on the Sunday and Micron Video would provide the match tape for the Riverside Club to show on the Wednesday or Thursday night before making it available to hire in their shop on Gidlow Lane.

Never mind that, why can't I just walk up and pay in at the turnstile anymore? 140 years of being able to do so and now we are moving to all ticket for no reason that I can fathom.

It's the same as the reason why you can't pay in cash at fairgrounds any more, and instead have to purchase tokens. It's to stop the (minority of) turnstile operators nicking off with the cash they collect.

now perhaps this is something that should be looked at for the future...develope Orrell so these kind of functions for the club can be held there.

Stop cash being stolen? Each person is counted in and so it's not that hard to reconcile the till, I suppose that there could be concessions sold at full price but I wouldn't be happy to find I had a kids ticket at £20.

As for you can unless it's a sell out, the last game at home only one turnstile was cash, and only after it got converted to a cash one from ticket. There was a debate last week on this.

Tickets are on sale 24 hours a day via the website. If not you can telephone during the day or call 6 days a week in person. Not sure why their would be any need to sell tickets especially at night?

You should be okay to pay on the night if you want to . I can't see it being a sell out, especially on a Friday night with Sky coverage. Selling tickets in advance for big games helps us reduce queues at the turnstiles and makes transferring into the seating areas easier because you will have the relevent ticket.
Tickets are on sale online from Fev too from today. I hope you lot run out and need more, I'd rather see us outnumbered than have empty spaces on the terracing.

i was a program seller in the 80's and i remember many times there were only 8000 attendance but the place was absolutly jam packed
