| Any of those players would be worthy winners, though I think it will be between Roby and Sam.

| Roby'll get it.
Sam should, but that's irrelevant.

| H'mm very tough to pick a winner from those three.
Again like everyone else I'm surprised not to see Monaghan in there. He was probably a very close forth, but someone had to miss out.

| Roby by a country mile for me, look at the stats, they say it all.
Tomkins just doesn't do it enought for me and because of Castleford's decline in the last 2 - 3 months, Chase will miss out.
Monaghan should be in the 3, wire's weakness is when he goes off in a game.
Young player of the year should be interesting, Lomax, Foster, Charnley, Welham, 3 of them should be the contenders.

I actually think it will be the other way round. Roby should win it but think it will be sam.
Don't think chase has any chance

but they really don't say it all, so why even roll out that tired line?

Not Foster take away his goal kicking and he is just an average winger. Lomax should win it!

His grafting stats are unbelievable. However he does not break and decide enough games for me. As highlighted by Saints poor record against Wire and Wigan during the whole season. I also look at Roby's stats which read just 6 tries in 31 matches.
Sam equally has good stats. Ok different departments from Roby - but he is light years ahead of any rival for clean breaks and tackle busts and crucially for me has contributed 32 tries in 33 matches for us this year.

Roby's stats are inflated because of the way he plays the game. They show how hard he works and how good his stamina is but they don't show how effective or influential he is. I'm not saying he isn't both of those things but it's slightly obvious that a hooker who plays 80 minutes and has a playing style where he regularly steps forward from dummy half before passing would end up making a huge amount of metres. His average metres per carry show that most of those metres come from stepping out before passing rather than direct runs at the line, therefore they don't really make much difference to the team.
To compare Roby stats with Sam Tomkins just doesn't make sense, given that the fullback and hooker are two vastly different positions. In fact comparing Roby's stats to Monaghan's doesn't tell you much either as they have differing styles of play.

| Wait...this is voted for by the players right? And the Tomkins are hated as they walk around thinking they are better than everyone else right? Whereas Monaghan (dog botherer) and Monaghan (beard) are the golden children and must surely be nomin.... I cant keep it up anymore Congrats Super Sam.
