Yeah Halifax v Hull I think. I remember Des Lynam in the studio afterwards saying 'well that was much ado about nothing' or words to that effect.

In the 74 game Cas dropped a late goal which went through the posts and was disallowed, the crowd reckoned that the ref wanted to be involved in his first scoreless game.

In the local Wynnum Freebie, the local historian (could be Bilko or my favourite Rougues Gallery) said he was at the game and was hoping for a drop goal as there has never been a 1-0 scoreline in Queensland 1st grade history. wouldn't mind a 0-0 on Good Friday as a fitting send off to the old ground, I, like you, have many many memories (good and bad), especially in the old "boys pen" in front of the old Clubhouse, the sound of the "Gladiators" tune (I think it was called that) as the teams entered the field.

The kids pen was scary when your a little lad.

brings back memories, both good and not so good. like the public address announcer stating, "if you don't keep silent when the kicker attempts to convert, we will close the boys pen" How times have changed, for the better or worse? the choice is yours!!!
