I fully understand that you'd rather turn this into a hypothetical critique of the Wigan fans, but the reality is that nearly every RL fan on Earth would rather have Billy Slater in their team than Kevin Sinfield. A painful truth possibly, but a truth nontheless.

I take your point about how hard it is to compare players when they play in totally different positions but McDermott is still talking abit daft.
Slater is one of the best 5 players in the world whereas Sinfield is not.

Think you've missed the point
Brian McDermott has apparantly said that "Billy Slater is not an incredibly more skilful player than Kevin Sinfield"
I'm agreeing with him
Faster, more dangerous running at speed, better support player, more flair - but more skilful? Probably not
Who would you rather have in your team? Totally different question
But I am commenting on McDermott's quote. You aren't. |

This is like saying Ronaldo isnt much better than Jimmy Bullard, or that Winston Churchill is only a bit better than Gordon Brown.
There isn't a player in Super League that is in the same class as Slater. Stop defending your precious sinfield and accept that he isn't the same class as one of the best players in the world. Its laughable.
Oh, and btw, Slater is much more skillfull than Sinfield.
Search Billy Slater in youtube, watch the video called 'Billy Slater Highlights' Now search Kevin Sinfield. You have a choice of sinfield talking, sinfield talking, sinfield talking, sinfield talking, sinfield talking, sinfield talking, sinfield talking or some video of sinfield kicking a goal that someone has taken on their phone.
Clearly nobody has realised the skill the Sinfield posses and therefore not made a video of all his tries, bits of skill, tackles and everything else he does with the same class as Slater.
