We didn't bring anyone in this year as Madge wanted to look at all the players we've got and not signing anyone for further year would be crazy. He's seen enough to judge future potential and worth.

Add to that Fielden & Feka are both off contract means we won't have the extra season option as neither will probably agree to a one year extension when they could get longer deals at other clubs.

Now is the right time to replace as we've got the opportunity and there are some top class players up for grabs also.

Only if Fielden stays.

I'd like us to resign fielden providing it is on a sensible wage, can't see anyone else offering him megabucks so that should be possible. Jury is still out on feka for me. Love what he can do in short bursts, but if feka went and fielden's contract was renewed but on a lesser wage that should easily free up enough funs for half the nrl.

I'm just unconvinced by a move for Luke Bailey, 3 years ago maybe, just not now, not for me and definitely not if it meant losing Fielden. Of course Madge knows far better than me, so whoever he sign's i'll be happy and trust.

Personally, i'd give Coley another year (and I really could see him taking a 1 year deal as he'll turn 33 next season), and see if Stu will take a 2 year deal on the right money.

Lenegan is off to Australia this week - who knows what goodies he will return with His decision making will be heavily influenced by Madge this time so hopefully we will get a couple of good uns!

I think we only need 1 prop and retain Fielden for 2 years and Coley for 1. Not too sure about Feka. His defense lets him down.

If IL is off to Aus then I would imagine he will have MM's shopping list with him. Perhaps those players he will meet have already been approached and he is adding the personal touch bit to do the deal.
Can't see us bringing in more than two NRL players if that.

As far as our present squad goes the overseas players would appear the most vulnerable. The quota is going down and the home grown quotas are going up.
Richards, Roberts, Leuluai are certs to stay.
Rumours re Riddell wanting to go back home.
Feka, Phelps and Bailey look very vulnerable to me.
Feka could be replaced by an NRL player.
Phelps place at 1 to be taken by Amos.
Bailey to be replaced by any of the younger back rowers we have at the club.
If we need an experienced man then maybe Hock will return mid season next year.

Overall IL will be guided by MM and him buying players than our coach doesn't want is unthinkable.
As has been said the Aussie press will be both amusing an intersting in the next two or three weeks.

I also was thinking along similar lines. Fielden and Coley have been a massive part of us being top of the league this season. Letting either go would be stupid imo. Feka has had a bit part role so if we have somebody lined up but we need to make space he should be the one to go imo. O'Carroll has been really impressive, he has put himself on the line every game. Prescott i cant make my mind up on, i will leave that one to Madge

First time IL will have had a clean slate to negotiate contracts fully under his own framework (i.e. by start of 2011 there will be no remain Mo contracts).

So will be very interesting to see who he goes for. Hopefully players that MM has identified.
