| Be careful here - You do realise all this debate about whether the league winners or the GF winners should be called 'Champions' will almost certainly result in the RFL coming up with another of their brilliant ideas, and, assuming the trophies go to different teams, they'll invent yet another money-spinning 'showdown' between the two, with the winners going onto the WCC.

They could call it the 'Charity Shield' and play it in the Isle Of Man

29281_1270406980.jpg When Maurice sold me to Leeds something changed, it just not the same, the passion inside me just wasn’t the same as running out at Central park for my hometown club.
We need a change of culture here; we don’t want to be just happy with playing ok on Saturday at St Helens.
Ill make sure that from now on things will change, that players will be under pressure and will train a lot harder than they have before.

You can't beat a foggy night away at Batley or Dewsbury.

| Undecided. The regular season is just 27 friendlies. Its an absolute joke. The amount of back slapping Leeds are getting is crazy. The last 2 seasons have seen Leeds finish 5th in effectively a 4 team league and shown great inconsistency yet our sport labels them a great side. I think they have lost 22 league games in the past 2 seasons yet are back to back champions! TWENTY TWO!!!!!

I won't be purchasing a season ticket, because under the present structure at least 30% of all games are of no consequence to anything, as Leeds have proved yet again.
This is not a knock at them they have played the system perfectly however it beggers belief that if we or anyone else are going to make a serious challenge to be crowned champions then we need to aim for 5th or 6th spot next season.
How they ever sell any season tickets at all is a mystery unless you factor in Yorkshire born and bred, strong in arm and thick in head.
My proposal for making the Super League, Magic Weekend & Play Offs all more competative would be :-
1.Increase the number of licences issued to 16
2.Decrease the number of teams in Super league to 12.
3.Introduce a promotion & relegation system of, 1 up & 1 down, based on a one game knock out (see 6)
4.Make "Magic Weekend" a (mid season) Grand final eliminator, between 12 super league, and top two placed (licence holding) Div 1 teams.
Draw the fixtures at the venue, on the day of the match, 7 winners go through to the end of season play off competition.
5.End of season play offs :-
A straight forward knock out competition between the 7 MW qualifing teams + the highest league placed (at the end of season) loser from the MW eliminating rounds.
Home advantages in the all rounds going to the highest placed teams at the end of the regular season.
6.Super league eliminator game to be played at a neutral ground :-
A one of game between, bottom placed super league club and highest placed licence holder from Div 1. Winner goes into super league for the following season and loser is relegated to Div 1.
Not perfect, but it must be better, more competative and fairer than what we have now, discuss !!!

| If you have a 2 comp system it does muddy the waters
League system - To get placings for play offs
Play off - Cup comp to decide Super League champions even though the "league" element has been removed
But the system is there for all to see and is understood by all teams and should be by all fans. Finishing in the top eight gives you the opportunity to become SL champions. Finishing 1st or 8th in the league should not diminish the achievements of the team that is crowned SL champs after the GF.

| As I have pointed out on other threads i wish the club would have a forum in the South Stand again, I am pretty sure fans have questions about the club etc and it would go a long way to securing some fans renewing their season tickets. They have not had a forum this season, I don't know why?
The RFL need some sort of mechanism to consult fans on their thoughts and feelings about the game and its developments.
Personally i think the playoffs gained momentum as it went along, the earlier games which allowed clubs a second chance need to be looked at with regards to marketing, annoyingly the RFL/Clubs knew this from last season and didn't really push ticket sales that well. Solutions - ST holders to get half price tickets or £10 and £5 for everyone etc. (I know the RFL had the £5 per child promotion, but generally kids attend with an adult )

| I have had a Season Ticket at Warrington for many years now, but I am currently undecided about next year. The 27 league games no longer matter when it comes down to the play offs. Wigan were the best team in RL this year but because of the ridiculous play off system a mediocre team (who are brilliant at play off Rugby) are now Champions !!!!
I am a fervent fan of Warrington Wolves, & I eat sleep and drink Primrose & Blue. But I am thinking why bother with a S/T and just save my money for the big games like Saints & Wigan and the playoffs when it really matters.
Just to be clear I am not against the Play Offs, I just firmly believe that the team who wins the league should be guaranteed a place in the Grand Final & all the other teams fight it out to play them.

That's the point - it is not a 'Super LEAGUE' - it has been reduced to a set of qualifiers for the main event, whereby providing you win 15 of the 27, you can take the preverbial out of the fans regarding team selection/effort put in during the other 12.
Or, if one of the other 'big' teams is struggling, paint your heads red and dance about putting in your worst defensive display of the year, allowing them to get 2 points and some confidence, whilst knowing it wont effect your position in the playoffs at all !!!

| Is it worth fans putting together an official statement to the RFL or the clubs about their concerns?
I was thinking of knocking an e-mail out to Wigan about a club forum evening or a lack of.

| We wont be renewing after 6 seasons of having a ST, a combination of us being away for 17 days getting married/ couple of grand prix weekends/ games against the likes of cas/wakey/london/hudds/salford being crap matches where we simply aren't getting entertainment for our money.
i will be at 75% of away games and home games against the wire/saints/leeds/big one 6 depending if im in the country.
Will be cheaper than paying £450 for two season ticket renewals in the west
