Not sure about 2, but there was definitely one where the Saints players whined about their man being "taken out in the air", to which the ref rightly pointed out that the ball had bounced BEFORE the man jumped up while it was on the rebound, which means that the hit is LEGAL.
I quote from the RFL rule-bookMid-air tackle 1. (b) It is illegal to tackle an opposing player attempting to field a kick whilst the player is in mid-air. The catcher must have returned to the ground before being tackled. (See Section 15.).'"
Therefore, if you jump to field the kick and are taken out, it is a penalty.
However, if you let the ball bounce, you are no longer "fielding a kick" and a mid-air shot is absolutely fine.
Stop whining and learn the rules.

Ok. I will remind you again. Morleys injury was accidental and in no way related to the banning of any Saints player whatsoever. It was thought by Eddie H. that the incidents were related but they were not. |

| Sadly live in St Helens and the Reporter is a joke for its reporting on Saints games. If they win, it is because they are magnificent/untouchable/blessed with the best talent available. If they lose they were unlucky/cheated by the refs/not given the rub of the green.
I think they expect that everyone in St Helens supports Saints. Well, they must do because the reporting is so cockeyed to be anything like the games themselves.  |

Isn't it just the same in Wigan? I've read Wigan papers and the journalists are no different.Not everyone in Wigan supports the Warriors. You must have missed reading the paper when the journalists have been putting the team down etc. Or you turn a blind eye to it.

Well I get it every week and yet have to see the reporter give a less than rose tinted view on saints games..of course I expect them to be biased as you point out the same can be said for Wigan papers..but the point of the thread was to do with the comments of Simmonds they just happened to be in the reporter. |

To be fair a local paper isnt gonna slate a local team too harshly are they? They wont get another interview ever! Its not rocket science |

Nobody would pretend that pace was ever Wello's biggest attribute. However, if you have Sky+, take a look at his first try and you'll see he was quick enough to waltz round three of your defenders. Bunnykins included.

When Saints lost in the last minute on Good Friday afterwards Simmons was asked how he felt about losing it at the end he said "well it's better than laying 2000 bricks a day".
I've never heard that one used by a coach before.
