Quote: those were the days "If fans are planning to watch the leeds v saints game head to a weatherspoons because i bet most pubs that have sky will be showing a football team from trafford.'"
Majority of pubs have more than one screen in them so no need to head straight to anywhere in particular. If you find a pub and for some reason it's not to your liking then there will be another within a minutes walk especially in the areas surrounding the ground.
Pubs within a stones throw are;
1) The Wheatsheaf (small'ish but good rugby following - 2 bars 1 big screen)
2) The Ambrose (real ale, a few plasma TV's and a decent size)
3) The Kill One ( Cheap beer 2 bars plus a function room - which they surely must open for this?)
4) The Furness (good old fashioned big pub)
5) The Continental (massive bar which shows live sport predominantly soccer but rugby should take priority on sunday)
6) The Raiders Bar (within the ground - cracking little bar good atmosphere and where the players go but will be rammed)
Beyond these are the town centre pubs and at that point just follow the crowd. Plenty of good boozers.
No's 2-5 can be found if you exit through the main gate. No 1 is at the other end of the ground.
Enjoy the hospitality guys and girls.
