| More than patience lost, it's interest also lost for me. I've been down on the quality of domestic rugby and officiating for ages and now, after that performance I'm down on my own team too. It's time for me to face facts instead of burying my head in the sand. Williams has been garbage, the TL signing a disaster. Gelling hasn't put in one decent performance all season and FPN is the worst prop in the league. But the one thing that had me raging last night was watching the highest paid player in SL hiding at dummy half doing the hookers' job. Let's face it, Sam Tomkins is washed up.
I wait all week for the game to come around only to end up pulling my hair out whilst rationalising the rubbish being served up. Well, no more. I've got better things to do than organise my time around this laughing stock.

Well John, you don't have to pay to watch it do you? You actually get paid to tell the players to 'play boring' and that's great when they win but when we lose you look like a dick. I'm guessing he won't like it when the atmosphere is deadful (again) and crowds are down 3,000+ (again).

| don't for one minute suggest that anyone who blames the coaching staff is off the mark. we can't keep living off our previous successes. something needs to change.
if the players went out there last night off the back of a game plan provided by the club then I can only assume that the club is deluded.
that wigan team out last night should be knocking ten shades out of everyone in front of them - don't contest that our players are returning from injurys etc. that excuse is well overused and invalid.
the answer to last nights' game is team selection, tactics and the coaching staff. I do not blame the players, not one of them.

| Players are to blame every bit as much - the coaches don't drop the ball cold (FPN yet again) or kick the ball out on the full, coaches don't kick the ball down the field to the opposition full back every time or throw stupid passes that no one can catch. All these things were evident last night - and surely someone should be demanding the ball on the 5th tackle for the kick - I counted at least 5 players taking kicks last night.
It was a poor performance end of. We can debate why all day long (my opinion - pack no where near good enough) but the fact is this team is not performing anywhere near it's capability but the truth is unless there is a MAJOR improvement we will get stuffed next week - Leeds will put at least 50 on us on last nights poor showing.

| Don't fret, we are under the pump, the lads are hurting, they're in for a hard week, the details were off, they'll put it right and turn up next week.
Don't forget they were told not to be afraid to be boring, they carried that off perfectly.

| that is one of my gripes. wanes logic is to slog them even more for performing poorly. it doesn't work. you don't punish poor performance by putting them in a position where they are not going to be able to have the energy to attempt to put in a good performance next time round. give it to them verbally and the players if they are honest enough will know what to do and do it.
its too obvious to me now and it has been for some time that it is not just the players at fault anymore.
why let two fringe players leave on loan for the rest of the year when the players in their positions aren't doing enough to retain their own place?! given the chance, at least they will try. wane likes his mates and again, it doesn't work anymore.
that team last night would give any aussie side a good run for their money on paper, with a different coach behind them. injuries and time out of the team can no longer be used as an excuse.

| Quote: Edinburgh Warrior "Up the middle rugby all night . We were outplayed up the middle all night so why not use our wingers who can score tries for fun. Neither hardly saw the ball all night. They have been our go to players all season but we ignored them last night.
We seem unable to count to six these days and are in a panic time after time as to who will take the clearing kick. Even forwards have been kicks in the last few week. Total lack of organisation.
Tony Clubb and Bateman get the only pass marks . I worry about Bateman , the lad dosent know when to quit but it is getting to the stage where we are going to have to manage him better for his own good. He ran his blood to water last night and towards the end was going into tackles at the end practically unable to defend himself. I worry he is going to injure himself though his own bravery how the coach didn't see that and spell him at the end is beyond me.
Oh for 12 players with Batemans and Tony Clubb's attitude every week.
Rant over lol .
Regards , EW'"
Did you miss Bateman giving them a penalty under the sticks when we were 4 points down and about to be awarded a scrum with minutes to go? Can't fault his effort but that was the point we lost the game. He needs to learn when it's better just to laugh at them; junior and youth players manage it! Tony Clubb was unreal, incredible effort.

| Very poor performance. Discipline killing us. Clueless. Williams needs a ball of his own. Two of the best wingers in the league and they hardly get any ball. Just slug it up the middle with a poorly performing pack. Club and Bateman ( brain fart at the end aside) played their hearts out, shame about the rest.
Didn't get the rub of the green though. Wire were the better side - saying that hurts.
Summats gotta change or the fans will drift away. It's just too painful to watch at present.

| People are blaming boring play, don't think I would agree with that. Chucking daft passes in our own half and kicking on 3rd in their 20m isn't boring, it's a lack of composure. Completing our sets, putting in a good kick on 5th and cutting out the ruck penalties would be boring rugby but it would probably have been enough for us to get the win.

We were doing that because we were frustrated we couldn't score imo. Had plenty of opportunities to do that but there was no enterprise, creativeness or organisation inside Wire's 20m.
Then we could barely get out of our own half because of our soft pack, backs wanting to go sideways and good Wire line speed. Missed Farrell's yardage massively, Isa isn't fit to lace his boots unfortunately.

| Shocking display, but after that awful first half last saturday is anyone surprised? something is clearly wrong either in coaching or the playing pool itself, which i fear is becoming a bit too "chummy" and is in need of a little shake up.

Do you think we turned the screw enough though? I think that was a game where we needed to keep forcing them to drop out or drive the ball out of their own half. Eventually one of them would fall off a tackle, not slide across or make a poor read and we score a scruffy try, or otherwise they at least become fatigued and the metres start to come easier. The whole game becomes easier after that and maybe we can start trying to be more expansive. It's no wonder we struggled to make metres in attack when we spent so much time defending in our own half. Agreed regarding Farrell, a very underrated player, though Isa does a job and is worth a shirt IMO.

| We have no 7. Major issue. Look at our issues:
-ill discipline
-no creativity
-terrible kicking game
All of the above are responsibilities of a 7.
Tommy is one of the worst 7s I've seen at Wigan.
Don't count on Sam Tomkins, he's retiring at the end of this season anyway.

Why are our play the balls so slow? Last night we got up from the tackle, put the ball on the floor, waited a bit before waving a foot at it and by then the defenders were in our faces. The whole of the East stand may shout off side but we were just clueless. Am I right in thinking that the defenders can advance when the ball is put on to the floor? Not a scoot, hardly a line break and almost no threat in the second half.
