longy was telling everybody during his signing session in the club shop its a done deal with us with gleeson till end of this season with a optional 12 month
So Gleeson shares a batchelor pad in Hull with his old drinking mate Longy - recipe for disaster!!

| So do we replace him Gleeson this season by opening the cheque book or do we wait till the end of the year and sign an NRL centre?
We've got cap space to work with so let's be prepared to be linked with any NRL player off contract.

| Fair play to Hull. Quality signing for them. Longy and Gleeson can do whatever they like Monday to Thursday - as long as they perform on game day I'm sure the Hull fans will be pleased.
The whole saga does my head in though. How can you stick by someone for two years who tested positive for drugs (which i think was the right thing to do btw) and sack a player for "allegedly" turning up drunk to a training session, something which i still find hard to believe.
If he wasn't such a good player and I thought we wouldn't miss him i wouldn't care but for me we are a lot weaker without him.

The thing which really irks me about this situation is that the biggest loser in all of this is Wigan.
Hull FC have got a quality player that let's not forget we payed 100k for,
Gleeson has got another SL contract
Wigan are out of pocket & a quality player down.

Which one of your many Antips you plan on getting rid of to fit him in?

hardly comparable situations. Hock was cut and dried. With Gleeson, and i am a big fan of the player, we just don't know the back story, and he does have "form".

You're right "we" don't know hence why I put "alleged" in my post so only commenting on the speculation. If it's something worse (though I can't think what and I haven't heard any different) then fair enough. My opinion and always has been is that I'm only interested in what the players do on match day.
I remember from reading Jason Robinson's book (the interesting first half of it) that before he went t-total he regularly turned up to training hungover/still drunk. It didn't affect his performances.

I'd like to think we are searching high and low for a replacement for Gleeson. If not, it makes the decision all that much more strange.

I think, if rumours are to be believed, then the club simply had to act. Letting Gleeson's actions go without punishment wasn't an option.
