I've been watching us since 1989 and they have been my 5 favourite players but also the 5 i feel made the biggest contribution to us from that time onwards.
I can understand somebody questioning Lam but Radlinski?
Not even as good as Lydon, let alone Hampson.

| Miles
Farrell
Bell
Robinson
Skerrett
Those are the 5 I enjoyed watching the most.
Miles because of his unbelievable handling skills, simply the best hands I've ever seen from a centre, by some distance. When you have that much skill and the power and physical presence that Miles had it was a joy to watch. Still think we should have got a second year out of him.
Faz because he always delivered, a huge presence in every sense.
Bell because he might not have had the physical gifts of a Farrell or the sublime skill of a Miles but he gave 100% to the Wigan cause, a courageous captain, a great leader and a nice guy.
Robinson because he could do things that no other player could; will there ever be another player with the pace off the mark, the agility and balance of Robinson? I don't think we'll see his like again.
Skerrett, well what can I say? Huge entertainment value. We don't seem to have characters like him around anymore (but then again did we ever, to be fair the Super Kel incident was pretty unique!).

I do not think the thread is aimed at naming the top 5 players on ability just the top 5 players people liked to have at the club/watch.
It becomes a bit on non envent trying to debate with someone over the plyers they have chosen as it is a totally personal thing.

I'd have to agree with them, players from my lifetime, Faz a player I always looked uo to at a very young age, then developing as to which position I'd play in the game, Radlinski become my icon.
Although he wasn't at the club a very long time, I always liked Brett Dallas, he was very professional to the game of rugby.

Hanley - Farrell spent many a year trying to be a 6 which did not help the club.

Depends who the other 12 were in the team!
Maybe Faz couldn't have taken us to the Highs that Hanley did in a team of World Beaters i.e Hanley was the Better Cherry on the Cake
However
We lost Faz and the club fell apart (Albeit with the loss of a few others such as Lam/Smith/O'Connor & the Coach situation) which shows how much he "Lifted" the club and led them.
If I had to pick???????????
Hanley

I will look to the moment, and miraculously, the future will take care of itself.
Radio 5 Live, Sat, April 14th, 2007,...Dave Whelan, "In Wigan, rugby will always be king"
'I was certain, positive, convinced, and yet..........unsure'
'It's only rock 'n' roll, but I like it'

Come again?
Could you not have managed to add a team under the yawn? Must be the first time you have ever managed to make a post without adding a team for the 2010 season and beyond!

39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

They are only the players I have seen regular and can remember fully, from 1991 to 1996 I cannot remember to well.

| In my lifetime the players I've enjoyed watching most are:
Robinson
Tuigamala
Paul
Renouf
Lam
Picked on the ability to make you think they are going to do something special when they have the ball in their hands.
