Been far too loose in many areas. When you go in to an atmosphere like this, against a side determined to start fast for a new coach, you’ve got to be disciplined and keep errors low. We’ve been everything you can’t afford to be.

I’m not digging he was out only back making meters in the first half.

In regards the rest of the game. Very poor. Getting bullied all over the park and our only response is to give away niggling penalties.

Great defensive effort this far in the second half by King, trying to offload in his carry though has really hurt us.

Was the week after when he had a shocker.

So he defended numerous overlaps due to us having 12 on the field and they eventually score one and it’s his fault!

No mention of him closing down the overlaps or the try saver that got us back in the game.

Always feared for us today and it’s pretty much gone as expected. We’ll be fine but they have to learn the lesson.

There’s no credibility for anyone saying King will be any good for us.

3 quota lads not in the squad.
Signing a centre notorious for not being able to defend.
Not replacing a marquee player in Bateman.

For anyone instead, look at the Leeds board and see how successful history says teams are that don't win their 1st game.

I’m not going to go overboard on a poor first performance because I didn’t expect much and these things happen but that point is a huge issue for me. Having one quota ‘squad’ player is not great, two is poor and three is scandalous really. Look at HKR today. Now I’m not saying I want their overseas players but they’ve got 7 and all 7 play in the game and the majority make a big impact in it. There can’t be many, if any other clubs who have 3 overseas players seemingly not in their first choice 17.

Got the basics all wrong today.

Played soft and tried to play rugby without earning the right.

Looked very clunky and disjointed.

Some of the lads didn’t look interested in doing the tough stuff rather thinking they were playing in “dinner suits”.

With KPP means we have sacrificed someone who will do the tough stuff. KPP seemed unwilling to do that particularly in the first half.

I’m thinking Isa definitely comes in next week.

3 props on the bench means we lack a bit of a game changer to bring on, unless it’s Mago. I think if we go with 3 props on the bench Mago needs to be one.

Bad day at the office, everything that can go wrong did go wrong, and fair play to KR who got their tactics right.

What was unacceptable I’d that for long periods we were out enthused and really didn’t look interested in earning the right to play.

Pretty dismal start that. We had about 10 minutes where we were in some sort of flow and had some ambition and verve to our play (but still pretty loose and sloppy in that time, has to be said), but apart from that looked well off it. Didn't really get up for the intensity required, attack didn't click, goalkicking didn't help to put some distance on the scoreboard early doors, defence was just weak, discipline suspect too and at times fell into the trap and they baited a reaction out of our lads.

One game yes, but we've got to wake up ASAP. Were miles off it today in every aspect.
