Quote Wigan6/Leeds1 Andy="Wigan6/Leeds1 Andy"Next season is massive for the club as we hopefully come out of Covid. People who have got out of the habit of going to games need to be given something exciting to tempt them back - we could not make a mess of recruitment and retention and yet I find myself open-mouthed at some of the things going on. Not sorting out replacing Hastings and Gildart with quality replacements is simple incompetence - and while they could pull a couple of rabbits out of the hat, I'm not holding my breath.
Jesus, how long how they known about this?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?'"
The worry is that it’s possibly not incompetence but simply down to us not being able to afford proper replacements. Unfortunately the recruitment to date will only see crowds going one way and it isn’t up. That leads to less income, even lesser signings and a slippery slope. I’ve tried to be as positive as possible and tried to buy some of the lines from the fans forum but the 73k line especially is starting to feel like tall tales.
Let’s give benefit of the doubt and say all the info was the truth and nothing but and we’ve always been looking for a halfback, then serious questions need to be asked as to why Williams, Fages, Lolohea, Sezer and Austin have all been snapped up by other clubs and we’ve been going further and further down a list, until we’ve reached a 36 year old halfback, who has always been a better hooker, whose best days are behind him and is already on our books.
If we’re absolutely skint then tell us and tell us the truth. Don’t tell us we’re skint but expect people to be daft enough to believe that next years squad is costing close to the cap limit. If that is the truth then Rads should indeed do the right thing and walk away.
